Saw him speak last Sat at Metro FCA coaching clinic.
His philosophy and attitude are contagious. There is no wonder these kids are buying in. He loves them. Loves them as people. He treats each of them the way he would treat his own kids. His entire staff is the same way.
Since it is a little slow. Here are a few notes .....
* Number 1 thing he wanted out of his new house in Lincoln. Square footage. Why? So he can have his new family for dinner. Must be able to have over 100 there. He has been doing this since he has been coaching. He works the grill. Wants the players to see "him serve them".
* Didn't realize his entire strength and conditioning staff followed him. Says a ton about his leadership. Same with Coach Frost.
* Quote of the day. "I'm a weapons manufacturer. That is my job".
* His relationship with Jesus is first in his life. Non-negotiable. His family is second. Football is third. Hunting is fourth.
* Said he realized he wanted to do this for a living as a 7-year-old. He was watching Huskers lifting in the weight room throwing up insane weight. He realized then.
* Does not view himself as the "boss". He is equal to players and his staff. They are all in it together. Players own their progress.
Overall, I came away very impressed. His message was spiritually uplifting.
We are blessed to have him as our strength/conditioning coach.
