Chris Klieman has to be the target now

You realize Klieman has gotten blown out by Campbell/Iowa State the last two years? He also has losses to Tulane, Arkansas State, and Navy. And 0-3 vs Baylor.

He's somehow beaten OU twice, but hasn't beaten anyone else that's any good. He's maintained the program where Snyder left it, but hasn't elevated it at all.

Klieman hasn't had to build a program, he inherited a powerhouse from Bohl at NDSU, and inherited a KSU program with good culture and discipline from Snyder. There's no evidence he can take a program in the dumps and build it into a winner.
Some people are overlooking the first time head coach mistakes that Venables made last night in addition to the 7 false start penalties on OU.

Everyone forgets about the wives and kids.
Urban is not an option. Our roster is not good enough for an immediate turn around and he isnt going to chance his last coaching stop on us. There is a job he wants thats gonna open in 2023. It's Texas A&M. They just had a number 1 recruiting class and likely will next year too. Plus his wife Shelley Meyer is not going to live in Lincoln. She hated living in Columbus and theres way more to do in Columbus than Lincoln. Even for $15M a year. It's the same reason Fickell won't come here. His wife loves Ohio and she wont move to Lincoln.
Is College Station, TX more cosmopolitan than Lincoln?

1) success in a P5 division
2) has shown he can beat teams like Oklahoma and develop a line that controls the LOS
3) he did it with Husker players, which is the most compelling factor

obviously, if Urban is available you pull that trigger (spare me the sanctimony), but as far as i'm concerned, Klieman brings more to the table than Campbell or Leipold in terms of tangible results and evidence of a quick rebuild into a tough team.

i know this board has a love affair with Aranda, but something tells me he's awaiting an SEC payday
Perhaps there is a coach with Saban experience ..... and Belli experience.... that we could at least send an invite to

The Tulane loss is unexplainable but maybe the catalyst for AMart turning it around and leading this team to a B12 championship game? IDK.

No thanks, just got rid of a guy who ran a similar offense here. Only having a 5'5 running back is an interesting take on it and maybe opens up some holes for them that weren't there in our offense.

He needs to be signed this week. Then he can shut down Adrian for the year to preserve his redshirt and bring him back with him.

it’ll be interesting to see if AM can keep it going. His best game ever probably, but OU didn’t make him throw very much. It’ll be interesting when AM faces adversity again to see if he crumbles like he always does.

You guys don’t want Klieman, trust me. The dude is a degenerate alcoholic whore monger. It’s just a matter of time before the whole thing comes falling down around him.

That is, if Rick Stockstill is not available. He had a great weekend, also.

BIG is more physical and plays tougher defense in general than Big 12.
It would be important that if one of these coaches were hired that they get a DC that can play BIG defense.

From watching most Big 12 games, it seems like the last team to score before time runs out wins. That doesnt work here.

I think you are confusing mostly really bad offenses for good defenses. Wisconsin thinks they have a great defense... then they play a good offense.

He ran it 21 times for 150. If you load the box and make him throw instead of giving him the opportunity to run it changes the game. K State also ran like 80 plays. Martinez is not a good passer, but is an elite runner. OU ****ed up by not trying to make him throw more.

Good for Martinez, but we'll see how he continues the rest of the season. Before this game he was rated towards the bottom in CFB in QB rating and was awful against Tulane. It'll be interesting to see if he can string some more of those performances together.

Of course we wonder if this was just another one of those "Jekyll and Hyde" AMart performances as well? Certainly, the narrative is clear that he lacks consistency and this win will be offset by another dumbfounding Tulane type performance.

TxT is next. They just beat Texas. So, they are good. The game will write another chapter in Adrian's drama and perhaps give us a better clue as to its ending.

I admit to.not watching the entire game, but bits and pieces. Almost every play I watched though, OU was bringing someone on a blitz. They had the safety coming off the edge often which AM took advantage of. They were trying to get to him but in the process, left a guy short on the backside of the D.

Kleinman would be a great hire… Trev shouldn’t overlook Jon Gruden. Dude is someone that wants to get back in the game and would immediately make us relevant. He is my new #1 assuming Urban isn’t a real contender.

except Klieman knows how to build a physical line on both sides.

Cats are melding into what he built at Fargo. Noteworthy that his last four QBs are now in the NFL.
Can you remind the class how often he lost as a two score favorite in the Fargo dome?

just making sure we’re all singing from the same sheet of music with regards to what is/isn’t being built in the lil’ (holds tongue) apple

"Melding into" is not the same as "has melded into."

One thing that raised some questions about Adrian Martinez performance in his first three games is the fact that we have a first year offensive coordinator, mediocre wide receivers and tight ends and our offensive line has three new starters and a fourth one playing a new position, so basically a retooled offensive line. It could’ve been a combination of everybody just figuring out where we were and developing some chemistry. Whatever the reason for the first three games deficiencies, they all seem to be worked out by game 4

Why don't you two go to the K-State board and have a conversation. Husker fans don't care.

Because y'all think you can walk into Manhattan and take our coach because, well, because you're Nebraska, so we both care, right?

Yeah not buying it yet. Klieman has meh records against everyone in the big XII except OU. They always play them well. Let's see what they do the rest of the year.

People talk about NDSU a lot....CRAIG BOHL is the one who brought that place to where it is. He won 3 straight national titles (2011-2013). Was first title since 1990. Klieman was DC in 12' and 13'. Klieman did win 4/5 years there. They then got a new HC and he won title his first year and then again the year after. 2/3 titles and have a shot this year again.

And Bohl didn't do anything when he jumped to Wyoming. Maybe anyone can win at NDSU and it doesn't mean you're a good coach?

most likely yeah, but it has to do with being able to nearly triple his salary. I'm not sure K-State could do that
