NOTE: Going to have to break this into two posts...hit the character limit lol...

Here's the short...we have a fan base that has expectations of a regional team every year and Supers every now and then. That would basically put us in the top 15 programs nationally. Does our fans and AD commitment match those expectations?

Let's start with the fans. We CANNOT say enough good about the fans (even if the B1G tournament has been meh). We absolutely are set apart in the B1G for fan support. We are #11 in the country in attendance and we trail 9 SEC teams and 1 Sun Belt (I see you Southern Miss). That CERTAINLY warrants the idea we should be a top 20 program.

LFG, great job Husker fans.

Now on to the AD...the news is not so good.

We rank #51 in the country for baseball investment. Some notable names we're behind...Dallas Baptist, Tulane, East Carolina, Rice, Coastal Carolina, Xavier, NC State, Baylor, etc. etc. I know football rules. I know basketball and probably volleyball are next in line. But come on. That's pathetic. We are ahead of exactly 1 SEC team...Missouri.

Our investment (as of 2022) is $2,706,357. We are 4th in the B1G, but in a virtual tie with Rutgers ($2,704,897)...unless you add in our new P12 friends then we're 8th.

18 Washington $4,514,653
21 Oregon $4,329,469
25 UCLA $3,947,876

29 Michigan $3,764,132
30 USC $3,740,391
39 Penn State $3,246,914
40 Iowa $3,246,380
51 Nebraska $2,706,357
52 Rutgers $2,704,897
58 Ohio State $2,519,945
63 Purdue $2,308,400
64 Indiana $2,301,689
66 Minnesota $2,278,670
67 Illinois $2,266,748
68 Michigan State $2,220,745
71 Maryland $2,193,359
87 Northwestern $1,878,033

With our incoming schools, HOPEFULLY THEY'LL PUSH THE WHOLE CONFERENCE FORWARD.

But sklar...we have to take care of football! Look I get it...football is king. But what about the SEC? Are we under the impression that the SEC is neglecting football to make baseball work?

1 Vanderbilt $9,599,910
2 Ole Miss $8,295,364
3 Texas A&M $8,205,344
4 Arkansas $7,430,590
7 Tennessee $6,250,169
8 LSU $5,981,966
9 Auburn $5,956,633
12 Mississippi State $5,282,379
15 Florida $4,954,818
17 South Carolina $4,596,259
20 Alabama $4,377,059
33 Georgia $3,535,563
41 Kentucky $3,217,232
57 Missouri $2,587,723
