Brandon Reilly suspected of DUI.

College kids do stupid things. Nobody should be surprised about this. Where was he on the depth chart?

What???? The guy blew a .15! That is not arbitrary. Neither is .08 if you want to make yourself feel better about people driving drunk, just say it. About 90,000 data points and a ton of SCIENTIFIC research has gone into setting those numbers. But yes, I am sure you know more than the stupid scientists.

Link?

A couple of things here:
I-180 is mainly patrolled by the state patrol. They gun hard on this area on any holiday/weekend past 10 pm. I've seen MANY people get pulled over for doing any speed over 60. Reilly also didn't signal b/c you can't turn unless it's green arrow on the exit ramp from i-180 to superior (one of the stupidest intersections in the city...no right turn on red for no damn reason). He got caught...he'll pay the price. The legal limit has been moved down quite a few times (used to be .12 I think, then .10, now is .08...many state have a 0 tolerance law).

Whiteshoes brings up a very valid points. Drunk driving is bad...but, other types of driving are bad too. Many probably won't believe it but you're just as much a problem driving to slow as you are fast to others in traffic. His Buick comment hit home...I see so many la crosse, sabre's, just cruising with little regard to laws. They run red lights like it's a right, don't signal, and pull out in front of others quite routinely. They are 100% not held to the same standards as other drivers..in fact, I've read oped's to the ljs from out of town kids saying they are sorry to the locals here that have to put up with their parents driving. The DMV here just wants the revenue...they won't deny anyone a license.

Lastly if Reilly lives north of Superior, that's really not walking distance from downtown. Many kids live out there b/c the housing is much better than what is found in the bottoms, around the capitol, or in T Town..

GBR

So in summation: Buicks are bad and if you live north of Superior St cabs, uber, and friends cant drive you home. Got it.

We go from a dui @ .15, got the drunk off the road, only to drag in old folks that drive Buicks! ( l guess both realities are truly dangerous :) ).

I discovered the Husker Board shortly before the usual suspects of the last two pages shut down individual topics on the RSS. One of them posted about a chicken sandwich thread I was reading and said, "I can't believe this is what this board has become if we are talking about chicken sandwiches." I don't care who made that post but when will you learn that pages of "nannanah, nannanah, nannanayah, Joe don't what he's talking about." Is of no interest to the majority of subscribers to Husker Online. Many of the topics that turn into dirtbag start with interest to all. I would normally use the word respect of others at this point but understand it would be too difficult for many of the posters on last two pages to comprehend respect or the purpose of this post.

I do this all the time, set the cruise to 4 mph over. I'm sure it gives police a reason to pull someone over, but if I'm a cop, I'm not bothering the guy doing 4-5 over. The person I am really watching is the one driving exactly the speed limit or slightly under. Those are the ones 'trying too hard' to not get pulled over.

In SoCal I find it's 8-9 over ;).

Man... if Reilly was driving a Buick, judging by the MENSA members here he would be hung in tbe public square.

Kid made a mistake we all have let it go and move on. I'm sure he will get punished.

Right there was my point. He screwed up and he will pay some type of price by the law and by the coaching staff. The part that bothers me is how many of us on here act like we have never screwed up or made a mistake in any fashion. I just hope he's learned a lesson and turns the corner, like many if us have.
