Bo Pelini took over a 5-7 Husker team and in 2 seasons had them 1 second from a conf championship, and would go on to two more conf championship games. He also took over a 7-5 YSU team and in 2 seasons has them playing for a NC.
Mike Riley took over a 9-4 husker team and in two seasons has won the chicken nuggets bowl.
Bottom line? Pelini plays for championships, Riley never has. Those are the facts.
This bothers me. Youre pretty much sayinge hes not gonna win, and your mind is already made up that he will leave this place rich with talent. Couldnt most cosches do that? I mean bo was a terrible recruiter so most cosches would do better. Couldnt we have hired someone who could upgrade the talent and still...win and compete for championships? Theres still time but it sounds like even his supporters have gone full defense mode. I can see it now...."he was never hired ro win!" "The success of coach B is due to riley!" Etc. why is it so much to ask for a coach who can win and fix the program...at nebraska? Maybe riley will.Riley will do OK, even if it is only stocking the cupboard for the next guy. Mark Pelini was not emotionally equipped to handle the job and did not represent the university and state honorably. His record compared to Riley's is therefore irrelevant.

Excuses! LolI will also take into account the players that each inherited. MR inherited squat and had so much damage control it was pathetic. How many coaches do you know that after they get fired go on a rant like Bo did to further down spiral a team. I'll take MR anyday for Bo. BTW, get back to me after this Saturday & LOI day.
I am not saying that, so you can become unbothered. I expect the staff to do better each year and I think 2017 will be a whole different animal with a QB suited to the offense, fewer holes, more depth, and better OLine. What I am saying is if it doesn't work out, we won't be left with critical holes, little depth and poor attitudes when HCMR leaves. This bothers me. (Agree with points on Bo.)

hey man dont be dissin frank like that.Bo Peep had seven years to do something...anything...other than beat up on Little Sisters of the Poor. He couldn't do it. Plus he was a world-class prick the whole time. Thus he was rightfully fired. What is difficult to figure out there?
Not saying Riley is the right guy, but Bo was basically Frank Solich with bad manners and a drugged-up trainwreck brother.
No, Frank. DUI conviction after his first season at Ohio. Did you forget?...kw?
Frank was better than bo, period.
Yes, at ohio not nebraska, while kw has one at nebraska so pot meet kettle. No, Frank. DUI conviction after his first season at Ohio. Did you forget?
I am a big time supporter of the police, don't get me wrong, but that was a chickens$%# bust. He wasn't driving, just pulled over, passed out with the car in park and the motor running. Back in the day, the police would have just called a cab.No, Frank. DUI conviction after his first season at Ohio. Did you forget?
AROUND 9:45 on the evening of Nov. 26, 18-year veteran Athens (Ohio) police officer Krishea Osborne was ending her night shift and driving home when she noticed an SUV facing the wrong way on a one-way street. And still moving. She approached the vehicle and found Ohio University football coach Frank Solich "slumped" against the steering wheel, "pretty much drooling on himself.I am a big time supporter of the police, don't get me wrong, but that was a chickens$%# bust.
