Blackshirts

Lol. 90 percent of those highlight hits would now be personal fouls for basically hitting too hard. What a shame

I pretty much ringed my hands to the state of modern football when Kenny Bell got called on that hit on the defender. It's sad.

Not the count for me, it's that Rose is actually listed as 1a on the "OR" above Kalu, if anything. Seems like either they're not as even as the depth chart suggests or something else is up.

Not sure exactly how many blackshirts is the right number. Not sure it's exactly 11. Last year we played more nickel than 4-3, so I thought it made perfect sense the nickel get a blackshirt. Not too far past that, but more than 11.

You start the game with 11 players.

Well obviously, but last year Cockrell our nickelback started almost as many games (6) as strong-side linebacker Santos (8). We didn't play the same 11 guys as our starters in every situation.

Apparently RIley and Banker aren't locked on the starters are blackshirts, eleven only, or we wouldn't have 5 defensive linemen wearing blackshirts.

It's the return of the 5-2-4 Cool

Based on the press conference today, the coaches this year plan on doing what the last staff mostly talked about... move Maliek Collins all over the place on the line.

Better or worse, Collins may be our best pass rusher and it probably makes a lot of sense to put him on the end in some passing situations.

If Collins is at DE more than just a couple snaps a game as a change of pace, Williams may play about as many snaps as anybody on the DL.

Collins is a DIFFERENCE MAKER that opposing teams HAVE to scheme around. Moving him around makes that difficult. When he moves to DE he is probably our best defensive end on the team especially in RUN situations.

I don't know dinglefritz... The BYU message board says that Koroma and their offensive line are going to shut down Maliek. He better pack a lunch.
