could you argue bill has done a better job than roy at ku?
roy's work at nc is tainted.

Give me the same five players and Self on one bench and Roy on the other and I will bet on Self all day long and twice on Sundays.Well Kansas is much better under Self, so what does that make Roy?
I'M LAUGHING...Your friend is a complete moron...and should not be your friend.
Roy is a better coach.
Bill Self coaches in the Big 12 not the ACC. They have 3 Kansas like teams.
Your conference is crap if the same team can win the conference title every year for 14 years.
But can't win a NC.
I will take Roy any day over Self.......Results matter....
Kansas is a perennial choker. That starts with the Head coach.
He is good coach however
You can have your Huckleberry Hound Williams...easily a phony....
Is Bill Self a good coach?
I have a co-worker who really doesn't care for him and thinks KU Basketball can do better.
He really isn't impressed with the regular season conference title streak.
He measures how they do in the NCAA Tourney.

Not if it's in the NCAA tournament. Don't trust Self under those conditions.
Regular season game I agree.
But recruiting is part of the coaching equation. So that's a cop out answer.
By recruiting, might you mean...uuuuummmmm.....'paying'?
Wow...you Roy's kid or something?Yeah an agent paying for a family dinner is Roy paying players..proof or gtfo.
How many OADS has Roy recruited to UNC since 2003? And both left way to early for money.
He isn't getting the best talent and still has 3 NCs and has to play in a tougher conference which he consistently wins.
Self is not on Roy's level. All we know his one championship was a fluke.

As far as one and dones for Roy at UNC, you should follow basketball recruiting a little. One and done talent won't touch Roy because top level talent was going there to die. He was getting top fecrits that dramatically dropped after they got to NC.
He was getting top talent that was not NBA ready.
He had 7 olayers go the league off of his 2099 team..you dont know what the hell you are talking about...I watch more college basketball than you take breathes..
.His last one and done was the ranked 27th overall out if high school...Thats not a top recruit in collehe basketball considering one and done. You

Yeah, 4-1 against Roy, with at least 2 blowout wins vs Huckleberry Hound. Sure looks like Self can't handle himself against Roy. (chuckle chuckle)
Self > Roy
/Discussion
3 NCs to 1 And has had the top college basketball program the last 2 years in America. With less talent than Duke or Kentucky.
And Roy will win at least one more before he retires.
Bill Burns tried to hire self and was let to know that Nebraska was not a basketball destinationWinning NC’s in any sport is difficult, if it wasn’t, Coach K at Duke would win it all the time. I’d take Self at Nebraska in a second.
At the same institution, Self did much better than Roy. And you can't deny head-to-head Self being 4-1 vs Huckleberry. Roy might be a better recruiter, but it would appear Self does better with lesser recruiting.

Probably wouldn't today....cant believe nebraska kept 'Participation Trophy Osborne " for over 20 years
Why the intensity for Roy, Jeans? What am I / we missing?
They all stayed at least 3 years in school when all other players ranked as high as those guys left after two years or less. You're clearly clueless on the matter. Do you want a rundown of top 20 recruits that flamed out at NC and had to stay in school because they were flaming out under Roy?
cant believe nebraska kept 'Participation Trophy Osborne " for over 20 years
amazing research!
Still didn’t answer my query....
Both coaches kick ass and arguing over which one is better is like two midgets busting out the yard stick to see which one is taller.

and nobody did less with more than dean smith.
You do realize leaving early doesn't mean you are ready to play in the NBA right? Talk about clueless.
Clueless...lmao...be glad the school you on anything you think you know about North Carolina basketball.

Here's the pathetic list Roy is shackled with when he has to step into a top level recruits house right now:
Top 5 recruits
Barnes #1 2 yrs
McAdoo # 3 yrs
Henson #5 3yrs
Felton #3 3yrs
McCants #4 3yrs
Lawson #5 3 yrs
Hansbrough #4 4yrs
Top 10 guys
May #9 3 yrs
Ellington #8 3 yrs
Jackson #9 3 yrs
Top 15 guys
Williams #11 4 yrs
Green #15 4 yrs
Hicks #14 4 yrs
Pinson #15 4 yrs
See a pattern here? Many of the guys lost millions of dollars because they DROPPED as prospects once setting foot in C Hill. Roy has a pitiful track record developing top tier recruits for the next level. It's comical it's so bad.
What an idiot. Tune in and enjoy Roy and his lack of any NBA talent make his 3rd straight final 4.
