Where are all the dolts who expressed recruiting concerns about Riley?

I'll raise my hand. I wasn't declaring him incapable by any means, but I did ask if I should be worried that NU was quieter than some other B1G schools into June. The response from those who know was that it was quiet, but not going to stay that way much longer.

Given the disappearing acts the last staff used to pull with recruiting, it was a question worth asking.

It's been a great few weeks. Let's hope they stay this hot and ink the kind of class they're on pace to assemble. In terms of organization and approach, they seem WELL ahead of what we had been used to.

Are we going to be able to hold onto 7 or 8 spots for our perpetual crop of 2-star diamonds in the rough that we uncover each February? It always feels good to flip a kid from McNeese State or Georgia Southern at the last minute.

On a serious note, this staff is well-organized and enthusiastic when it comes to recruiting. If they duplicate this effort in game prep and player development, we could actually produce some championships. I was pretty lukewarm about the Riley hire at first but he's been pretty damn impressive.

Link? All I saw was an article saying "Alexander said it is unlikely that will take any more unofficial visits but he could take an official visit or two." which isn't really the same as saying he'll definitely take at least two official visits. Could <> Will. Hope he doesn't take any visits, even just for the fun of taking a trip because things can happen (especially in SEC country) but he sounds like a pretty solid commit.

you're right. i misread the article. it does indeed say may take a couple official visits in the fall. nonetheless, even if a guy is considering taking an official visit, that's not really committed, in my mind. this guy is a good player. Beamer wanted (and still does) this guy at Vtech. i'd like to see him moved to DE once he gets to Lincoln. as solid as he appears, i could see risk in losing alexander given how far jersey is from Neb. hope i'm wrong.
