Big Ten laughing stock of college basketball

Shout out to Nebraska getting absolutely hosed and I mean hosed hard because it's the big ten's job to worship the ACC who unjustifiably hands fake college degrees out like UNC and doesn't get in trouble. That's the message sent. Even losing ACC schools make it before 13-5 big team teams.

It didn't take long for them to diss Purdue either basically laughing when a 2 seed was handed out and bragging about how bad Arkansas was going to slap around Purdue in second round.

I've never seen a team go 13-5 in big ten and not make NCAA. Just unbelievable but a 8-10 Syracuse team makes it. It's asinine and completely rigged and biased.

Still got more bids than the Pac-12. Their 2nd-place team didn't even make it.

That's because it's their job to worship ACC to. That's what the NCAA is all about. It's about UNC handing out fake degrees. Arizona gets to make out 100k payments to their recruits. Everybody else gets to ACC worship. Just like Michigan State's job is to be Dukes mop when Duke wipes the floor clean with them like they do every year embarrassing the big ten bad enough next year big will beg mercy to get 2 teams in.

Cant believe how hard big and pac got rear ended here.
Both are fox conferences, just sayin.
Sec 8 teams???? Big 12 7 and baylor was first one out????
This is absolutely absurd

I think the Pac-12 only deserved three teams. USC just should have gotten in over Arizona State.

It shows how dissed big ten is that a 13-5 team doesn't make it. And highest seeded team Purdue got pissed on during announcing as the seething fat faced announcer basically egged on Purdue to worship Arkansas feet. Saying big ten sucks so bad that a 7 seed gonna slap highest seed team around too. And they put Duke up against MSU again just to jab it in the big tens side. And I have no doubt Duke will dominate slap Michigan state with their pretending and no doubt Purdue will find 100 reasons how best to please Arkansas.

maybe this year we can get a team to the elite 8 .. it hasn't happened the last 2 tourneys .. every other power conference has had a final 4 program and multiple elite 8 teams in that time

If you're not OSU or UM, Big Ten don't care.
100% that goes for football as well. BIG10 has a lower level feel compared to the other power conferences. I really can't pinpoint why that is. I have said this for awhile in football. We are known as the outdated, slow, big, fat and 2 tier conference. Even Ohio St when compared up against Bama and other SEC schools is downgraded.
Is there justification for the rest of the country looking down on us? If no, why do we are we viewed so poorly? How do we change it? 186-194 vs other conferences in football isn't getting dominated by any means.

Everyone agrees but the committee.

Committee does what the ACC pays them to do just like the recruits that go there when they get their big bag of cash. Until Big Ten gets to have coaches recorded offering 100 grand bags of cash to players and nothing happen I doubt we have much of a chance playing by the rules. Big ten are fools. Rules are for fools. UNC hands out fake degrees. Nothing happens to them. And the icing on the cake is this MSU Duke matchup that's all lined up. I mean that's just the typical Michigan State mop for the ACC.

I don't know how much basketball you watched this year but the teams that were chosen were about right. The big 12 was as good as I've ever seen it this year. Iowa St finished last in the league and would have contended for the big ten title. lets face facts the big ten is down as far as I've ever seen the league in my life time and I'm 78 years old.

The committee basically eschewed the value of watching games and identifying teams who are playing well late.

The formula is very simple now. Play as many top level teams and don’t worry about running a streak of games together. Win 4 or 5 that matter and it counters everything else. Even conference games and games heading to the dance.

I for one completely disagree that a game in November is the same as a game in February and March.

Blame that on BIG for there unbalanced schedule. Playing only one of the top fives teams at home is a shame

I blame the typical bags of cash. The scheduling argument isn't going to fly. For the same reason kansas gets home games in NCAA tournament. There are 50 states and hundreds of cities and Kansas gets a 1 seed with 7 losses in their home town practically. Purdue played them last year on their home court in NCAA. They might as well played the game in Jayhawks stadium because it seats less people. It would have been a lesser advantage than where they had the game played. That's with half their team accused of raping girls in the dorms at that time. It's all about seed money. You want a good seed pay up. It's just a convenient coincidence they get the typical home game in NCAA the seed money bought.

UNC 10 losses and gets a 2 seed. And they also get to play a home game first series. I mean what is that ? How is that allowed? Nobody should play a home game. Except if you are UNC, Duke, Kansas. Then every year you get home games in NCAA. I've never in my life ever seen a 2 seed with 10 losses. It's asinine. Then Syracuse losses 7 of their last 11 games. One came to Boston College. They went 8-10 and two of their wins are against Pitt who has zero wins. Absolutely zero justification for Syracuse getting in while Nebraska or PennState gets to stay home. No team 13-5 should be sitting home. That's inconceivable to me. I think Arizona's coach knows why this happens every year. Bags full of greed to buy the seed. I'm actually surprised big ten teams made this tourney at all. Why not just start leaving ranked teams out to make more room for ACC teams.

You want some cheese with that whine? The NCAA has long said that teams will play as close to home as possible in the first rounds (regardless of regional assignment). The cities that get those games (KC, Omaha, Okie City, Wichita, etc.) rely on teams with home appeal to generate the ticket sales needed to fund the whole thing.

Am I the only one that wonders if the B1G is over rated? When is the last time a team from this awesome conference won it all? I'm not saying they aren't good, they are, but I just wonder if we're kind of a paper tiger sometimes. Don't shoot me for asking, I'm not convicted about it either way...it was just a thought.

The FBI needs to investigate the kickbacks and internal corruption and conflicts of interests with the selection committee.

The Big Ten has had a team in the finals three times in the last ten years.

Big Ten network typically holds Nebraska in low regard but doesn't mind kissing Michigan and Osu's feet. Pretty hard to get anywhere when your own network doesn't have your back.

NO TEAM deserves to be in if they can't win half their conf games.
I don't care how good your conf is. It clearly shows you don't deserve to play for a championship!
Big 12 and SEC aren't that good in basketball. They are a fantasy in their own minds. But just like in politics, if you keep telling a lie many people fall for it. SEC shouldn't have had two out of Final Four in football either but when TV cronies keep proclaiming their dominance over and over it has an effect. When SEC teams lose it is because their league is so tough and balanced and when they win it is something no one else could have accomplished. I t is all hogwash but it works.

Wouldn't surprise me if the other Big schools, lobbied against NU with the selection committee, just like AAU membership.
Not sure about lobbying against, but I don't think they lobbied for us. Just like the bowl game last time.
Itcould literally take 20 years of cracking some nuts before we are taken seriously and respected within the BIG.

Only one national title since 1990 - MSU in 2000.

Over the last 2 years the BIG has the worst winning% of any major conference. No elite 8 appearances the last 2 years. Every other major conference has had a final 4 rep and multiple elite 8 teams over the last 2 years.

Need to represent in the tournament this year

The number of B1G teams in the final 4 since 2000 is either the most or second most behind the ACC. B1G has had a lot of really good teams over that stretch but just no elite teams.

Sorry, but that is not even remotely true. Iowa damn near beat them at their place. Iowa State is equal to Iowa/NW/Minnesota/Wisky/Maryland/Indiana.

ISU was 0-10 on the road.
