As a state, Oregon probably resembles where he grew up much more than Nebraska. I’m not all that surprised a kid in his situation would commit there but any coach who wins there isn’t staying there any longer than he had to. I think Raiola is going to prove he can put O linemen in the NFL. I suspect Fonoti played a big role in the quick change of heart.

It sounded like the OSU trip was just a formality because he had family ties there. When he got there he got caught up in the moment with all that and gave a Rash commitment. After a day or two he got all his emotions back in check and came back to where he knew he had to go.
With a scenario involving unlimited coaches, I wonder if there would be value in adding Fononti as an assistant OL coach. Rotate sending him out west with Donny. Could probably really get a pipeline going.
Keep him as the Hs coach. He’s doing a great job of sending us kids where he is right now.
Can you rotate the coaches that are out on the trail? I know you can substitute a coach in the event of a vacancy in the coaching staff, I just don't know if you can just rotate simply to rotate.
What would Alabama do? We've always substituted coaches for surgery or whatever. So Donny has back spasms once a month that a Lincoln doctor will confirm. NCAA wouldn't do anything. The rule as I read it is to be on the recruiting trail you have to be a engaged in on campus coaching. I think these new coaches would meet that definition.
