If we do the right thing and fire Eichorst and/or Riley which really needs to be done who are the best potential coaches and AD's out there


I for one want to hire Jim Tressel and make him both the A.D. and head coach Nebraska giving him an ungodly money and power to hire some of the best assistants including future assistants to replace him given his age would be perfect in the Big Ten and he can help us Establish greatness again

Eichorst isn't a Nebraska guy, either. It doesn't have to be Trev Alberts.

I don't really care who the AD is, as long as he/she doesn't conduct a solo coaching search, and make a head-scratching hire.

LOL...you should open yours. Alberts has shown great success at UNO and is ready, God forbid that we have a coach and AD that understands Nebraska football and its culture and tradition.

The reason Nebraska was good in the 90s is because there was passion, there was pride for the program and for the state. Players came here and knew what Nebraska was, before they even stepped on campus.
I think now players and coaches know nothing of the old Nebraska, the drive, the passion. It isn't here any more. We weren't always the most talented team on the field, but we were the most driven and fired up. You don't see that fire anymore. You don't see that mentality of getting the win no matter what. Going 100% on every single play. Getting a Nebraska guy in here that was around during those good years might help instill that old mentality. Not saying in will work but at this point can it get any worse?

If Trev wasn't at UNO Baxter Arena would have never gotten built. Baxter Arena gave something for Blais to recruit to and that in part is why UNO has seen more success in Hockey as of late.

UNO hockey was very average before Alberts hired Blais. They were annually average or in the lower half of the CCHA...a fairly weak conference once you got past Michigan, MSU and Miami. The program has advanced tremendously sense the 2 arrived. Some of that credit must go to Alberts.

100% agree. Recruiting is getting even better. Next season's class is shaping up to be another dynamite class.

And for the new coach...let's see...this one got 9 games with the previous coaches' players (minus the best offensive and defensive player on each side, plus critical injuries), so if we cut that in half, roughly, new guy gets the non-conference games to git-r-done. If not...fired. Next guy gets a couple games, the next guy maybe a presser and few practices to give a good vibe. Next guy gets fired before he's hired, cause this is Nebraska, damnit!

Well that culture is preferred all over the college football world so why exactly do we need a Nebraska guy for something we didn't even invent?

ADs need vision, superior communication/management skills, the ability to successfully deal with donors and the ability to recognize and hire talent. Or better yet...we could just hire a legit coach to begin with and bypass all that other crap. But I guess 3-9 will have to do this year! Not Rileys fault though.

A Nebraska guy understands this fan base and their expectations of the football program better than an outsider. Granted, some other guys get it, but we have a clear track record of not finding those that do get it.

The way you talk about him, he should be the hottest name in the country. So again, where all of these other schools lining up to hire him? Why wasn't he TO's choice to replace himself?
