Best available or soon to be available AD's and head coaches in

Or better yet...we could just hire a legit coach to begin with and bypass all that other crap. But I guess 3-9 will have to do this year! Not Rileys fault though.
I don't really know where the fault lies. I've never witnessed a season with so many asterisks- injuries, close losses, one extreme to the other as far as HC demeanor and culture, etc. Can't wait for things to get better, however that happens. I do think that calling for a new coach's head part of the way through season one is unique, even if it has been off-the-charts frustrating.

A Nebraska guy understands this fan base and their expectations of the football program better than an outsider. Granted, some other guys get it, but we have a clear track record of not finding those that do get it.

I understand what you're trying to say but it doesn't take a Nebraska man to understand fans like ours. If it were a Nebraska man proven to be a good coach then I'm all for it but blindly hiring a Nebraska man because he understands us will likely do nothing more than keep us in this little rut we're in.

Sounds like a plan. And for the new coach...let's see...this one got 9 games with the previous coaches' players (minus the best offensive and defensive player on each side, plus critical injuries), so if we cut that in half, roughly, new guy gets the non-conference games to git-r-done. If not...fired. Next guy gets a couple games, the next guy maybe a presser and few practices to give a good vibe. Next guy gets fired before he's hired, cause this is Nebraska, damnit!
I see the point you are trying to make, but come on. Anyone that is still 100% confident that Riley can get it done here is obviously not watching these games. Great coaches would have made this season better than a 3 win season.
Im not saying light the torches and run him out of town, but based on his past and so far his start here. It doesn't give a ton of hope for the future. I think he will be on the hot seat after this year and gets a gimmie this year. If things start bad next year. I think something needs to be done asap or this program could fade into nonexistence.

The way you talk about him, he should be the hottest name in the country. So again, where all of these other schools lining up to hire him? Why wasn't he TO's choice to replace himself?
So now you want me to get in Harvey Perlman's mind? Who knows why he hired the "hottest name in the country", Shawn Eichorst? ROTFLMAO.

I don't know if he will or won't be the answer...but I know that this has been such an atypical year with things beyond his control, that it seems extreme to me for some to say, definitively, he's NOT it- before season 1 is over. This obviously isn't acceptable. We need a new culture, for sure. I'm hopeful that with some good health and better luck, next will look considerably better - although tougher schedule will make it...tougher.

Fair enough.
