Bengals-Bills tonight-Prayers up

That was this sports medicine specialists take as well. This guy is an interesting follow on YouTube.
Exactly what I told my son immediately after the commercial break and the replay. I would say it is certainly cardiac arrest.

Just devastating to see happen on a football field. Prayers are with him, his family, teammates, and everyone that was at that game tonight.

Was watching it live. It was clear from the tone of the announcers both at the stadium and in the studio that this was more than your normal concussion or head/neck/spine injury concern.

Google Chuck Hughes for a similarly frightening situation. Hopefully this situation turns out better.

Yeah I’m not praising the league as much as the coaches, who made the right call. The league just finally came to its senses.
I have to imagine that the NFL has a contingency for this type of scenario- even as potentially dreadful as this is.

Makes me wonder if they will simply call it “No Contest”.

Getting oxygen as he was leaving is actually a good sign considering the circumstances.

Great work by medical team getting his heart restarted. He should hopefully make full recovery.

Compressions compressions compressions… life saver
About 10 years ago I had a friend go into complete cardiac arrest but his wife woke up in time to scream for her son to come do CPR. The EMTs took at least 10 minutes to get there and it took 4 shocks in the ambulance and then the hospital to get him restarted. Then they flew him to a heart hospital, sedated him and chilled his body for several days to prevent brain swelling. The day they woke him up he was as if nothing had ever happened.

Saw on twitter that they may have put him in a medically induced coma (rumor not confirmed)
It has been reported on Fox Sports Radio, and probably elsewhere, his vitals are normal but they put him under to run some tests. The tweet above is from Hamlin's rep (Jordon Rooney).

I was watching that game. I know they finished the game, but I don’t remember how much info anyone had on his condition as the game finished out.

I THINK I saw the Chuck Hughes thing live...I was 10...

Not really. Just pointing out a fact. I really ain't losing any sleep over someone acting like a b**ch on an anonymous message board. Rock on, brother.
Lol rarely have I seen someone so hurt over a post not even directed at them.

GREAT news coming out about Damar, things are looking very hopeful as he is awake and following commands of the doctors. Long way to go, but great news none the less.
The hypothermia procedure used for heart stoppage patients has made a huge difference in reducing brain damage.

You were spot on with your earlier evaluations, dingle. That's what got me thinking it just wasn't that young mans time yet!
The reports are encouraging. Somebody else nailed the v-fib from the chest blow as the cause. I didn’t see the hit. Hopefully he regains full mental capacity. In a traumatic situation like that I don’t know if pacemaker placement is required or not. They didn’t teach me that at Holiday Inn. Ironically I get to have a stress echo due to some palpitations while shoveling snow last Friday ☹️ The regular EKG had some meandering P waves.

The fact that this happened on the field and had immediate CPR and attention probably saved his life.
He might be eating Cheetos and watching Ridiculousness by tonight. I think the hypothermia treatment increases survival odds by about 15 percent in comatose cardiac arrest patients which if you’re the one out of 6 or 7 that procedure saves that’s a big statistic.
