Basketball: Nebraska @ Rutgers 11:00am ESPNU

Aaaaannnnnd we turn it over again. 2 straight possessions with a chance to stretch the lead and maybe ice the game....and we turn it over.

This one's all on Tai. 2 turnovers in our last 2 possessions. What the heck was he thinking. STUPID.

Reminds me of the close football games we lost last year. This team is a coaching nightmare.

Gee, N p*ssed themselves again at the end of a game. A Tim MIles staples.

Hope they are super proud of losing to a hapless Rutgers team that was winless prior to today - after leading by 5 with a minute and a half to go. Didn't get a shot off the rest of the way.

What clowns.

Geezus Friggin Christmas! Two epic collapses in a row. Up 5 with almost a minute to play and we blow it. Good grief!!!

Is this what those in authority had in mind when they invested millions and millions of dollars in the basketball program?

A complete debacle, and I would not blame anyone for wanting to gut the entire operation and start over.

Moral for this team has to be at an all time low... Two games with last second shots to defeat them has to be absolutely demoralizing. Both being to the two worst team in the league

Well as horribly as the Huskers played today - up 5 with a minute to play and the ball in Webster's hands, I like their chances. This is the kind of killer loss that can turn a slump into a nosedive.

What a total Nebrasketball move. Get a win streak and follow it up by losing four straight, lmao.

Now all the sudden we're hoping to get just one more win on the season.

Does anyone have the manual on when it's acceptable to blame the coach for a loss?

I'm guessing that you can't blame Miles for those last two turnovers. But if we didn't play so freakin' awful in the first half it wouldn't have mattered.

Were any of you people alive 5-10 years ago? Recent stretch is very disappointing - but state of the program is definitely at an entirely different level than it was when Miles got here. We need to find ways to avoid the bad stretches and obviously would have loved to finish out the last two games the other way but you can't throw away the progress that has been made.

But hey...that Tim Miles fella...he will surely start stringing together multiple wins from here on out.

Been following NU hoops for a half century, and I think the state of the program is about what it has always been - glimmers of hope followed by setbacks.

But that said, I don't want to start over with another new coach. Not yet, anyway. There's much better talent entering the program, so let's build on that. But it needs to translate into more wins soon, and you have to avoid losses to awful teams.

5-10 years ago was before we invested millions of dollars into facilities and resources for the program. And it's looking like the result is 4 losing seasons in 5 years and too many ridiculous second-half collapses to count.

Well if Husker fans need something to cheer them up, #7 Creighton tips off shortly on FOX.

thinking of just kicking myself in the balls instead of watching this team any more.

I've been following Nebraska basketball since the 70s. The talent level is unquestionably higher but the level of play is the same or worse than 10 years ago when we won 20 games with Aleks Maric, Sek Henry and Ade Dagundero. This program is fundamentally broken, there is something wrong and I'm not sure that Tim Miles is the guy that gets this turned around. When you lose at home to Incarnate Word and Gardner Webb with our level of talent you have to stop making excuses for the coach.

Is it coaching or is it talent? After so many years one would assume the coach has the players he wants on the floor...the players he recruited to do what he felt necessary to win in the B1G. So you can't have it both ways...either Miles can't recruit or he can't coach the kids he has recruited. Either way his record would indicate something isn't right and just maybe it's time for a change. I would think SE will be looking at what's out there at the end of this season and pull the trigger if he can find someone available that wants the job and can do the job....cause what he has now ain't working!
