B1G Futures Are Out

you said winning less than 8 games this year would be 'highly disappointing'

I brought up Fatt Painter because I just figured 'highly disappointing' was akin to the sun rising in the east for you purdue fans

also, I find it delightfully ironic that a purdue fan reads this page multiple times per day in hopes he can chip in his completely unsolicited two cents, thus always derailing said non-purdue topic, even though his mascot fixes train tracks in order to presumably prevent derailment!

You talking basketball sh@& to other BIG fans? That’s a bold move considering Neb is the only Power 5 school without a tournament win.

Puffing of bravado against Purdue, Iowa or anyone else regarding Men’s basketball - I’d just sit that argument out. JMO. Neb’s best men’s basketball achievement was a 3 seed/ first round tourney loss in 91 (31 years ago). Nothing for you to argue here.

I believe it was poor coaching that caused the qb/st problems and we didn't do enough to address it.
Common denominator in the QB red zone play, the ST, the horrendous OL play, defensive backs pummeling defenseless receivers to keep opposing drives alive (see Colorado loss in 2018)…is COACHING. AM played a role in the first of the 4 areas mentioned in my post. He did not play ST, he did not play OL (and if you want to say AM made OL look bad…they did plenty to look that way themselves in straight ahead running plays…getting 2-3 yards per carry in the first half…against Fordham), and he didn’t play defense. Conversely … there was a coach that oversaw the entire program and all 4 aspects. Yet…people continue to make excuses for that person. Truly bizzare.

iowa? lol!

one of hoiberg's best wins & the easiest money of all time in the round of 32 every year

purdue's season last year was much more disappointing than ours from a performance to expectations standpoint

I'd rather do what Purdue did than Nebraska did. Played poorly, got beat. Purdue will have another chance soon. Nebraska?

You’d rather lose to a 15-seed as a 13-point favorite (and prohibitive region favorite) than perform to expectations?

that’s as bad a loss as any program in the country has suffered, and a much worse loss than any in NU hoops history.

very typical for B1G teams in the tourney, though. downright hilarious if you ask me

I do think last year was a bit of a failure, but I also think that team was overhyped compared to some recent teams that were better. But no, one loss in a single elimination tournament where a bad game means you end your season doesn't distraught me. It sucked, but Purdue will have more chances.

So I'd rather watch my team win 25+ games year in and year out than win like 8 games.

25+ regular season wins or 8, we each finished in the same spot.

it's nice you have something to cheer for Nov-Feb, though. I'll give you that.

is it true your best WR dropped out of school?

He didn't drop out of school. He didn't make grades. Purdue will be fine at WR though. Super deep position. Having 2 really good TE's will help soften the blow. Neither him or Bell played in the bowl game.

hopefully the kids who didn't fail out of school can run the 'draw defensive pass interference' play.

it was your entire offense during the bowl game (your best win).

or not, since, well, you're purdue and nobody cares/watches/pays one second of attention

Frost’s biggest failure has been his inability to beat crap teams like Purdue. He has one more year to change that.

Meh. I'd consider taking MSU to school a bigger win. The bowl was just icing on the cake. AOC threw for 500+ yards. Didn't realize PI went into that stat. I'm just glad Purdue has a better coach and football team and continuing to look up.
