B1G Doesn't Belong in the Playoff

I will say urban changed at least Ohio st offensive identity and harbaugh took the conference back 40 years with his plodding offense. But the problem with both teams was a bad defense

i accept all the hindsight, still think USC at full strength is better than mich

It’s what happens when opinions are shared

I’m sure the same people will be lining up to give props to correct predictions

Only fact is there will be 3 teams in the top 10 from the B1G and everyone else will be unranked with 5 or MORE losses..

And one of those top 10 teams (pennst) will finish the year having beaten only 2 P5 teams with a winning record

But you wanted Purdue in the Rose bowl too. They beat top 8 team too..
I said it’s lame the AP poll decides who goes & the loser of the B1G title game should go

Just happened to be purdue this year prior to their entire team imploding

And that’s the stupidest statement 3 weeks later still proves true..
Penn St 11-2.

Purdue didn't deserve to go. Ohio State, Michigan, and Penn State are all better than Purdue. Was it the 63-7 drubbing that convinced you Purdue was worthy?

no, I stated my opinion weeks ago and stand by it

it's lame that the B1G uses the AP poll to pick which team goes to the rose bowl

purdue won their division. pennst beat 1 P5 team with a winning record all season & was only ranked where they were because of their pre-season start.

I don't know why this is a controversial opinion

Penn State had a better conference record and beat Purdue head to head. The best in their division, LMAO, what a joke. The top 4 teams in the East division likely could beat any team in the West division. We need to do away with divisions and have the two teams with the best records play for the championship.

Pretty sure Penn State was unranked to start the year. Seem to recall a lot of their fans were thinking 8 win season or so... Sorry to defend the Nits - I think living with Penn State fans may be starting to infect my mind, lol.

The one P5 team with a winning record that Penn State happened to beat prior to today just so happened to be Purdue. LMAO at wanting Purdue to stink up the granddaddy of them all.
the purdue part is hindsight

I posted that opinion (it's lame to use AP poll) long before the B1G title game

looking forward to doing away with divisions and having whichever team happens to draw rutgers, indiana, northwestern & maryland play ohiost every year for the championship, which is basically what the league already does

Without the division nonsense, Penn State finished with a 7-2 conference record. Purdue finished with a 6-3 conference record. Last I checked, 7-2 is greater than 6-3.

great.

beat one single team with a winning record and play for a conf title and/or go to the rose bowl

awesome

what other P5 league can say it provides its members that kind of opportunity? LMAO

Michigan and Ohio State should have played for the conference championship. Winner goes to the playoffs and loser plays in the Rose Bowl and one less B1G team in the playoffs. Then everyone can be happy.

The following statements in this thread are each filled with factual errors:
the B1G champ has never won a CFP
utah is better than every B1G team
And one of those top 10 teams (pennst) will finish the year having beaten only 2 P5 teams with a winning record
pennst beat 1 P5 team with a winning record all season
& was only ranked where they were because of their pre-season start.

The above does not include the many opinion statements (ex: about USC) also proclaimed that fail on a common sense level.

That said, they do provide entertainment.

It's getting to the point where no one outside the sec is worth discussing. If/when Texas, Oklahoma, Auburn, and LSU get cooking again...it's over. Missouri is like the old 'bum of the month' heavy weight fighter. Shows up, comes to the middle of the ring at the first round bell, wakes up on the canvass, and back in the locker room gets handed a check, although theirs will be a big number.

- SEC better than BIG10....there is an argument to have there
- But PAC12 better than BIG 10?? Bro literally nobody with a brain that understands college football could possibly make this claim
- Your conference members are literally on their hands and knees begging to get into the BIG10 lmao...clown

Screams for expanded playoff. Damn near had two non-conference champions in the CFP final.
That is because of having CCG. Question would all 5 of the teams that lost after playing in the CCG be in the 12 team playoff? Absolutely no!

All five champions should have been in. Tulane should have been in. Alabama and Tennessee should have been in. TCU and Ohio State got in because of the eyeball test. It's all rather absurd today.

Why Alabama and Tennessee? They didn't win their conference? Tennessee I would allow as a wild card as the 2nd best SEC team. For the other wild card, I would have Ohio State. 2nd best team in the B1G. Better record than Alabama, therefore I think they deserve it more.

Alabama and Tenn as wild cards in a 12-team format.
