He's a CB from Miami. I heard he is visiting this weekend. He earned a scholarship offer after attending one of the satellite camps. That's about all I know of him. There may be a chance he commits on his visit.

Does anyone have any information on him?

Would be nice to get both. Then be able to be even more selective once the season starts. Think this young man can be a great find for the program.

Ran a 4.34 40 at our Florida satellite camp. Looked good to the coaches who got to see him in person.

His film isn't really all that impressive, but most of it is bad technique and other things that can be fixed with coaching. Offer is a little bit of a risk, IMO, but we have enough spots in the class to take a chance on a guy with the kind of physical upside he has.

Just waiting for it... You know, those who are gonna only look at his current offers... This bums me out.

I'm not thrilled on this one. Look at his film. Somewhat of a suspect offer. But, as always, my opinion on this matter means squat. Trust the coaches until proven wrong.

Can he returns kicks? Use him like Devin Hester, Hester sucks at wide receiver but has made a living off speed. From what you guys are saying his coverage skills are weak at CB but with that speed either put him on offense, out in space, or return kicks/punts next to DPE. We have 85 guys on scholarship every year, some positions have solid depth with 4 guys or so like WR, CB , S.. but the front 7 on D and QB spot has a lot of wasted scholarships, I for one am perfectly fine risking a scholarship on a role player with 4.3 speed. Them big slow BIG LBers be like "where'd he go?"

Some on here seem to think 4.4 is a typing speed and they can coach it from there. 4.3 and instincts and intelligence is rare. We have seen him; he stood out in camp exercises

Dicaprio Bootle:

10.62 electronic 100 M Dash
21.32 electronic 200 M Dash
4.3 forty
3.9 short shuttle
37 inch vert.
22.7 long jump
14.64 in 110 high hurdles as a sophomore in HS.

4.0 GPA

Offered on the spot by Mike Riley at satellite camp.

Reminds me of LeRoy Alexander out of high school. Bootle played for bad high school team They used him as a Strong Safety. He wasn't really tested as a CB. Surprisingly very good against the run.

He is a developmental recruit who needs better technique refining his footwork and ball skills. But my God...... He can run.

So if he was a Nebraska kid with those numbers this year, that would be top 5 in the state for 100m, 200m, 110 hurdles, and long jump including the best 200m and the best 100m by anybody not named Cotton. 37" vertical is darn good, too.

Combine that with a GPA over 4 and he's apparently ridiculously athletic and darn smart, too. Sounds good to me.

Have I told you guys how much I love Mike Reilly's recruiting

Got great speed. Supposed to commit this weekend after Boe Wilson does on Thursday. https://rivals.yahoo.com/nebraska/football/recruiting/player-DiCaprio-Bootle-149995

Interesting assessment comparing him to Leroy Alexander. I see nothing in common between the 2 players...

But worthy if offer?
One thing that gives me hope with Bottle is he stood out at a satellite camp that was supposed to be loaded with talent. Coaches got to personally evaluate him and liked what they saw. That's one reason I'm a big supporter of the satellite camps.

Lots of raw speed and athleticism. The GPA is a great sign as well. A kid with these tools can be developed.

This. College football is still a game of speed. We can talk about size and strength all day but any Husker fan knows that we have trophies because we decided to recruit speed in the past. The same is true today.
