AGAIN, I'm here to eat crow...

I was one of the ones that said we just needed to wait for these young guys to gel as a team. It's okay to be frustrated with losses but at least give them a little time. Either way I'm sure the crow tastes a hell of a lot better with a win over #11

...I think I started a thread a couple of weeks ago doubting Miles...I'm sorry...we looked like a TEAM tonight!

Right there with you. I didn't think we had a chance. Sometimes I love being wrong.

Basketball has become a guard game and #5 is becoming a huge star. Of course Shields was awesome and Webster has finally become a player.

Way to man up sparty. I didn't post it, but I was also starting to doubt Mr. Miles. It looks like our young team is growing up before our eyes. Big win on the road tonight.

Yea "you suck" (jk) for not seeing the potential of the freshmen when they were 0-3. None of them are a project in terms of basketball skill.

It IS enjoyable to watch...except for the missed free throws at the end, the kids answered every Spartan salvo...that bodes well!

So is there any one reason for the turnaround?

Miles recently installed an offense?
Miles is giving his young talent lots of minutes?
Freshman just needed some more time to get comfortable?
Team all of a sudden decided it had confidence?
The fans found out we had an assistant on the staff they didn't know about?
The team is playing like a team?

Yeah....until the next loss. Then it's right back on the 'fire miles'- ' miles sucks' bandwagon.

How about people just shut their holes and give him a chance instead of flying off the handle every time you get pissed??!

SOOO. You are saying that fans have no right to weigh in on a disappointing 13-18 season, a sluggish start to this year, including bad losses to Creighton and a HOME loss to Samford? Is that correct?
Because I think it is a two way street, IF you are willing to say "I was wrong"..you buy some right to opine...

Agreed. In my opinion a lot of people around here are most worried about being right (not at all saying this is you) whether or not it's a logical conclusion. I'm not gonna go back to look at all the posts about Miles, but there were some pretty bold statements made about how he "isn't the guy". It was frustrating to read, but I'm not about to call anyone out.

I think for me, the thing that bothered me the most was the lack of patience with so much youth on this squad. The expectation was to struggle early and now (thank God) we're seeing progress.

I am right there with you. I offense looks better, still kind of clunky at times, but they have found so nice combos to put on the floor that can score. For me what was disheartening during the early 0-3 start to conference was you would get career games from Parker and Webster and still not win. Now you are seeing guys step up and get out of games with a win.

Tough stretch coming up, but they are showing they can hang in there.

That's the thing...we won't come close to going undefeated the rest of the way, BUT this was a huge step in the 'buying in' process....and those frosh can play!

It was a fun game. Nice to see us competitive (that is the goal, right?). Don't really think that anyone should apologize for an opinion on an anonymous message board. This place is good for comedy, not ethics....

Great win for the team last night. As unlucky as NU was on the falling down banked in 3, they were just lucky that Valentine didn't hit that open look at the end. Lookin forward to the game on Saturday.

Good ball movement on offense, reduced turnovers, Watson at PG has helped greatly, Webster's improved play now gives us a 3rd scorer (maybe a 4th in Watson), etc

I think Miles talked about the reason for improvement in one of his post games. The new assistant he hired has helped improve the court spacing on the offense that allows for better penetration. Miles also gave props to SS for his to input and leadership.

There are some good young pieces to the puzzle on the current roster. There are also some missing pieces. Personally the team defense and rebounding were much better than what was occurring a few weeks back. Not as much overall offensive pressure if the defensive can improve..
