NU has four guys who can take carries when the game is still being contested. I thought Dowdell might be a four game guy, but he is making them play him. He’ll be back - loved his energy and literally seemed like a cannon shooting to the hole. Hated that he fumbled, but respect what the staff is trying to do. In a tight room, turnovers can be the deciding factor.
We're you drinking mango margs with single?I hope he starts next week. I thought he looked like our best back.
I wonder if we'll stop hearing the crying of, "Rhule doesn't practice what he preaches" ?Did he return? I don’t think we saw him again the rest of the game, but I could be mistaken…
100% I've been saying this since spring game. Idk how he practices or whatever, but the dude just runs like shot out of a cannon and angry. Love it.I hope he starts next week. I thought he looked like our best back.
He was our best back, no doubt, I was impressed. But he dropped the ball.I hope he starts next week. I thought he looked like our best back.

He should not play at all against Colorado because he dropped the ball today.
He should possibly get some snaps late in the game against N. Iowa if Nebraska is up big, but he needs to be in the doghouse as an example. The good thing about depth is we don't need to coddle players who cost us games.
Until the culture is changed that turning the ball over is 100% unacceptable, it will keep happening.
He should be 4th on the depth chart this week.
Pretty sure that mindset after one mistake will make the team more tight… gotta show some grace at least… if he fumbles against Colorado as well then it’s time to sit him for a more extended time, imho. But not after the first time.He was our best back, no doubt, I was impressed. But he dropped the ball.

No kidding lol what a curmudgeon take... 😬Whoa...he served his time.
So do the same standards apply to Raiola? He throws an INT he sits the rest of game and gets busted down to #4. That would go over well.He was our best back, no doubt, I was impressed. But he dropped the ball.

you heard his name but that wasn’t correct.Pretty sure he was back in later. Could've sworn I heard his name 2nd half
Even Rhule recently said that all turnovers are not the same. That was a good defensive play.Pretty sure that mindset after one mistake will make the team more tight… gotta show some grace at least… if he fumbles against Colorado as well then it’s time to sit him for a more extended time, imho. There wasn't a subsequent touchdown by UTEP after the fumble. Nebraska got the safety and didn't look back. If there's a bright side to that fumble, it's that Nebraska basically woke up and shoved their foot up UTEP's ass. After that fumble, and the subsequent TD by UTEP, In Prior years we might’ve made it a close game. But not today. Has it really been five years since we won our opener?
No. The 4 rb's are pretty much even. No one is close to DR, even if he throws a few picks. So do the same standards apply to Raiola? He throws an INT he sits the rest of game and gets busted down to #4. That would go over well.
Even the best fumble at times. Not sure what kind of culture you are aiming for.
He looked like the best back to me. Even the fumble wasn't like last years. Good low helmet on the ball hit.NU has four guys who can take carries when the game is still being contested. I thought Dowdell might be a four game guy, but he is making them play him.

Oops, I only watched the game in fits and starts On my phone, so it was hard to do it linearlyThere wasn't a subsequent touchdown by UTEP after the fumble. Some on this board would have wanted Rhule's head on a silver platter had he put Dowdell back in after fumbling.Wish coach Rhule after the safety would of put Dowdell back in the game to show him confidenc to carry the football after fumbling,it was a great football play by utep looked like he had the ball high and tight.
I think this is where the film room will determine how Rhule feels about it. No way he could have made that determination on the field in the heat of battle. Anxious to see what he says about it at the next practice/press conference.Wish coach Rhule after the safety would of put Dowdell back in the game to show him confidenc to carry the football after fumbling,it was a great football play by utep looked like he had the ball high and tight.
So no consequences for fumbling. If he was the only decent RB we had sure put him back in. But with 3 other guys capable of producing you have to roll with them.Wish coach Rhule after the safety would of put Dowdell back in the game to show him confidenc to carry the football after fumbling,it was a great football play by utep looked like he had the ball high and tight.
Haha geezus this can't be seriousHe was our best back, no doubt, I was impressed. But he dropped the ball.

Well....maybe I was a little harsh I agree with others who stated he served his time. But man, when that fumble happened I was SOOOO "Here we go again".So do the same standards apply to Raiola? He throws an INT he sits the rest of game and gets busted down to #4. That would go over well.

I agree. He looked like the best RB out there. Much faster than I thought he was.He looked like the best back to me. Even the fumble wasn't like last years. Good low helmet on the ball hit.
There would've already been consequences though. Fewer carries overall. So no consequences for fumbling. If he was the only decent RB we had sure put him back in. But with 3 other guys capable of producing you have to roll with them.
Yep, it was DowdellWho were they talking about in camp “that they didn’t want to tackle him, or they didn’t like tackle him?” Was that DD?
Well that makes more sense, based on how he was running the ball during the game. He’s possibly “a dude” for us in that backfield.Yep, it was Dowdell
