Please change the title, perp only had a knife, the only shots fired were by the police.
How long before someone complains that the suspect shouldn't have been shot because he was ONLY armed with a knife?

Somali "refugee" 18 years old and a student. I remember not long ago seeing where Isis was imploring people to use knives and attack in unsuspecting places.
Soon....soon....followed by BLM activists.
Well the first reports were that it was a dark haired middle aged man in KMart kackies, navy blue sweatshirt holding a glass of milk and wielding the knife.......Huh?
No doubt purchased at the Korova Milk Bar.holding a glass of milk and wielding the knife.......

And a car !
Yea but I'm sure the car thing was all an accident.
All? Not even close. Some leap you came up with there. While you're all gloating and cracking jokes about something awful like this happening, why don't you spend a little time theorizing about why the guy did such a piss-poor job of managing to kill anyone...
And just maybe the current laws worked to not enable him to get a gun. Like I say every single time, enforce the laws on the books before the BS crocodile tears about making more laws they refuse to enforceWhile you're all gloating and cracking jokes about something awful like this happening, why don't you spend a little time theorizing about why the guy did such a piss-poor job of managing to kill anyone...

Not really my point. They need to actually severely punish the scum commiting gun crime, and anyone supplying them with the guns.I agree here. I think this incident highlights where the focus should be......on the person committing the crime as opposed to the weapon used. It is fairly obvious criminals will find a way no matter what laws there are in place.
My issue with that is the math doesn't back it up. That's not an evidence-based solution, it's an emotion.Nobody is gloating. We're sick of this crap and think there's some pretty simple steps to take going forward to minimize the chances of this happening again, but we get labeled racist for even suggesting it, and we're sick of it.
I'll be curious to see what comes out on that, whether he'd tried to buy but got denied or didn't like the waiting period or what. You'll get no argument from me on wanting enforcement on existing laws. And just maybe the current laws worked to not enable him to get a gun. Exactly. I could give 2 shits about their bullshit "scary guns" spook stories. Until someone calls this administration out for their willingness to keep putting illegal firearms in criminals hands, that's what makes their crocodile tears so divisive.I'll be curious to see what comes out on that, whether he'd tried to buy but got denied or didn't like the waiting period or what. A lot of the problem is they try to pass some goofy, little measure that has no practical benefit because they know they can't get any real measures through. So you get dumb crap like arguing over whether a fore grip should be legal and passing that then repealing it later. Meanwhile no progress has been made about actually making it hard for crazy people and criminals from being able to buy.
This I can totally get behind. I'm also watching with great interest when shops or manufacturers get sued. They way it's all set up right now, I think that's the only way you really get stringent checks at the point of sale is if the shop fears being sued into oblivion if they don't really do their homework up front. Not really my point. They need to actually severely punish the scum commiting gun crime, and anyone supplying them with the guns.
No gang-bangers let off after 6 months. No careless gun owners put on "probation". Start having a backbone and enforcing the laws already on the books. There is no such thing as a "gun show loophole". They need to simply stop turning a blind eye, and that has gotten worse under the current administration (who like to control the weak by telling them the opposite)
What's the administration gonna do about it though? It's a state-by-state issue. Here in IL the laws are tougher than many states, but what the cops find is the guns they're confiscating originate in Indiana or Wisconsin where it's easier to get them.Exactly. Stop crying and force the current laws to be enforced. Cut federal programs to those states they think are the problem, if they refuse to enforce said laws. If they had really wanted to stop those guns coming in, they could have by now. What's the administration gonna do about it though? It's a state-by-state issue. 0bama photo op, ban all knifes and cars, put ohio state on ncaa probation
