Aaron Rodgers is a NY Jet

There might be coincidences but Favre and Rodgers weren't close to the same. Dual-threat from Mississippi with a rocket arm but poor decision making. Kid who spent all his time playing football in the bay area and was in contention for the #1 pick. Favre liked his painkillers and whiskey, Rodgers likes his psyadelics.
Obviously different people and play styles but their career accomplishments and now even teams played for, in the same order are eerily similar.

Yeah but it makes more sense if you actually think about it. Packers hit on 2 HOF'ers in a row. Jets can't find a qb to save their life. Packers are smart enough to know to move on before the old qb's drag the entire franchise down. Jets are desperate. Old qbs love the thought of winning in NYC and proving the Packers wrong.

Packers might miss on Love but they are absolutely doing the right thing. They have a 1st rounder waiting and can push Rodgers out the door. If they hit on Love then they can once again go back to not worrying about qb for another 10 years.

The real question is: Will he bring along the officials who will throw an interference flag EVERY TIME he pitches an enormous tantrum after throwing a long one downfield and his receiver is unable to catch it....?

Is this thing still dragging on? Jets should publicly rescind their offer. May as well, it isn't like a guy you have to beg to come play for you is going to win anything.

he'll announce today on the Pat McAfee Show

I now hope he made the Jets sign all his friends just so he can retire

I have hated Rodgers since day 1, as I do every packers player

but I now find I have no choice but to respect his dedication to being insufferable

it's very funny

I completely agree (though it might be hard to level this with your QB eating charred well done steak slathered in ketchup like a 6 year old)

Goff seems like a good leader, too. really have never heard anything bad about the guy.

I have been a Cousins defender for his entire career, but I think we've seen his ceiling.
Careful Kirk I call him. He can win some games by playing within the system, but it's not in him to put a team on his back when it really matters. I'll be glad when he's gone, but the scary thing is that they are so few people who can be good in this position. Most are just plain rotten. The owners know it's still better winning 10 games per year instead of 6

Aaron Rodgers complained that the Packers didn't give him the weapons he needs. Then he turns around and demands the Jets give him his old weapons. Can't make this s*** up. Will he ask them to trade for Jordan Love so he can make him sit behind him for two more years?

Officially (so far) a near identical career to Brett Favre. Both played in and won 1 Super Bowl.

Pro bowls: Favre - 11, Rodgers - 10.
MVPs: Favre - 3, Rodgers - 4
Favre: 4x passing TD leader
Rodgers: 2x passing TD leader
Favre: 3x first team all pro
Rodgers: 4x first team all pro

Somehow, both go to the Jets after a long and wildly similar Packers career. Amazing.
Both unworthy to carry Mahomes jock.

Why not?

That would pretty much be par for the course.

He should also demand Donald Driver and Greg Jennings while he's at it.

according to Rodgers, that was fake news

the Jets asked about his teammates and he answered

do you always fall for state-sponsored propaganda?

Packers, Jets 'Not Close'; Green Bay Eyes 'Premium' Deal
"My understanding is the two sides, as of last night, were not close to completing a deal. And the Green Bay Packers aren't going to be in a rush to get something done until they feel like they get sufficient compensation for the player that believes he is the greatest player in Packers franchise history. You're talking about a four-time MVP, and they believe that there's a premium to be paid for that. That when you look at the landscape at what other quarterbacks in recent trades in recent years have fetched, it has been a lot.
"What did the Broncos give up for Russell Wilson? Multiple ones [first-round picks]. What did the Rams give up for Matthew Stafford? Multiple ones. Not every quarterback has been traded for a package like that, but those conversations have occurred in the Packers building. Never said the Packers asked for that, but they've talked about that as an organization."

The Jets have seemingly already been preparing for Rodgers' arrival, as they hired his former offensive coordinator, Nathaniel Hackett, as their new OC, along with agreeing to a contract with former Packers wide receiver Allen Lazard in free agency.

Because of that, the Packers are in the power position in negotiations, as the Jets almost can't possibly turn back because of the uproar it would cause within the fanbase.

If not Rodgers, the Jets are out of quality options at quarterback for 2023. They would either have to run it back with Zach Wilson, sign or trade for a veteran who is a significant downgrade from Rodgers or draft a quarterback who isn't among the clear top four prospects at the position.

The Jets also have the longest active postseason drought in the NFL, as they haven't reached the playoffs since 2010, meaning their desperation has reached a fever pitch.

As noted by Schefter, quarterbacks who have accomplished far less than Rodgers have yielded some hefty trade packages in recent years, although they were younger than Rodgers is now at 39.

When the Los Angeles Rams acquired Stafford from the Detroit Lions in 2021, they parted with two first-round picks and a third-round pick. The move paid immediate dividends for L.A., as it won the Super Bowl in Stafford's first season.

In an attempt to replicate the Rams' success, the Broncos acquired Wilson from the Seattle Seahawks last year for two first-rounders, two second-rounders, a fifth-rounder, quarterback Drew Lock, tight end Noah Fant and defensive lineman Shelby Harris.

Unlike the Stafford trade, the Wilson trade did not go well initially with Wilson struggling through the worst season of his career and the Broncos missing the playoffs.

It is hard to imagine the Packers getting the type of haul the Seahawks did for Wilson, but it isn't impossible since Green Bay holds all of the cards at this point.

If a trade does ultimately go down as expected, the Packers will turn to 2020 first-round draft pick Jordan Love, who has just one career start to his credit.

schefter is a boot-licking sycophant (aka typical B1G media product)

Rodgers shoved him in a locker yesterday

Packers don't have near the leverage they think they do because if I know Rogers could hang it up at any moment, the Jets do to. No way the Jets give anywhere near the haul Denver did for Mr. Fatty McFatpants Wilson. In fact, that trade showed us why that prolly won't happen again with an old QB past his prime. GB is going to end up with a disgruntled QB who doesn't want to be there if they over play their hand.

He would just retire and the Pack would have to eat it on the salary cap. They will get something figured out. The Jets are basically all in at this point.
