2nd GAME THREAD!

Not sure I like going for 2 at this point really, but I guess it puts it on tape.

I like the game plan. We've kept it conservative, haven't shown a whole lot and we are leading by 26. We aren't a perfectly well oiled machine running the ball, but that is something which will get better the more we do it, physicality is as much the result of a habit of mind as it is pure physical power. The pass coverage has been a little soft, but it kind of reminds me of what we would see in the McBride years at times, we aren't getting torched, so it isn't terrible. Obviously we'll know more as we see more games, but this is not a bad opening performance at all.

Fyfe is in. We're good!

It's mop up, but it doesn't take a genius to see RB: #1 Devine co #2 Bryant/Newby. Bryant has more burst and power than Newby so I could see him getting way more touches.

I think it's clear that we've got some serious weapons waiting in the wings for next season.

Huskers want to cover
Ha. Was thinking the same thing. I bet the 2nd half, -14 and was stressing that after the 3rd. Hell I was really hoping for a push. Good finish. Played with a ton more passion in the 2nd. Actually liked the blitz packages Banker dialed up in the 2nd half. Going to bed with a little more hope in this staff then I woke up with. Good adjustments

Glad they overturned it. That needs to happen more often.

That being said, THAT gets a celebration penalty? I've seen much longer celebrations than that not get a flag.

Nice comfortable win after starting slow and coming back from a sad and strange off season. Is this a finished product? Probably not. But I think there was enough to show that this team has a chance to do some good things this year

So we went into this game knowing FSU had a new OC and really were not sure what to expect offensively. They came in with a mobile QB and didn't huddle. Take away a blocked put and a bad handoff (which cause some stagnation on offense), they did nothing. We got pressure, decent coverage, and for the most part tackled well. Can we take the finger off the panic button?

I agree spinner. Many different plays in the second half. Westerkamp? I would be unhappy. Moore looked fast.Need to rotate some of the de lineman. Intensity much better i thought. almost 300 yards on ground. We will take it. We are undefeated.

We overcame God awful officiating and a couple of miscues and won big. Can't really ask for much more. Oh, and no problem with the two point conversion. Puts something on film for other teams, and it's on Fresno State to stop that.

That game plan was as vanilla as it gets. Defense played well in the run game again...pass rush and secondary still a concern. No clue on the offense...can't imagine that's our identity. Special teams is not close to special...needs cleaned up before Oregon.

I heard you during the game. Loud and clear. You don't like the staff (surprise, surprise) and every mistake reinforced your belief. Then you posted it for all to see. I see you need work on being less negative. In the end, the game was a big positive. No one said we played mistake free ball. We just played good. I'm ok with that on game one.

FIFY. But we will take it. Lots of question marks but our secondary has way more swag then last year, which is nice to see. Our LBs are some of the worst blitzing LBs in the league. They can't breakthrough the dam line. Not sure if they are just terrible at disguising it, too slow,or just not strong enough but it's a concern. We know we don't have the ends for pressure. Looks like we will use more corner blitzes but going against the Ducks that can be scary.
