25 Feb: Nebraseball (4-3;RPI#138;Creams) vs. Utah (0-6;RPI#287;J:Black/P:Grey) - NU wins 7-4

Dang, just looked at Utah's schedule. The Utes don't play a home game until 23 March vs. Sacramento State. Their first 19 are on the road or neutral site.

Safe to assume Oregon State is a pretty good team and we just don’t have the arms and bats to compete on their level. Which somewhat bums me out. I know regional appearances are fun but I really really want to see the CWS type of teams return someday. A man can dream right? Haha

The game today will be played on one of the alternate fields at Surprise (Field #6), not the main Spring Training field.

The Texas Rangers are using the main field.

Stands are packed for NU-Utah.

Alvarado will be at 1B today.
Wilkening at DH.
I assume Roskam at C, no work yet.

Cronenbold will not be available today, jammed his thumb in pregame.

Henwood will be at 2B.
Hallmark at 3B.
Altavilla back at SS after the thigh injury earlier this weekend.

RHP Matt Warren will be on the hill.

Fisher, Matt Waldron, and Hohensee all available today out of the bullpen.

Yes, 12 K's and 1 BB's in his first game last weekend vs. Oral Roberts.

Nebraska is wearing their alternate creams with script "Nebraska".
Utah is wearing black tops and grey pants trimmed in red.

Standing room only at the game today. Not enough seats at Practice Field #6.

No fencing down the LF fence.

Wind blowing in slightly from center.

61F at gametime

SS Altavilla F7 <3B was defending against the bunt early in the AB>
LF Hagge BB
- (0-0 on Schreiber) Hagge steals 2nd, gets under the tag on a bouncing throw. First stolen base of the year for Hagge.
RF Schreiber E5: grounder to the left side holds Hagge at 2nd, but errant throw gets Hagge to 3rd and Schreiber to 2nd
DH Wilkening L4
C Roskam BB loads the bases
- Fouled off a couple 0-2 deliveries, then got to 3-2
3B Hallmark K swinging

0-0

As a practice field, little room behind home plate, so attempting to take home on WPs is risky.

Also, the scoreboard doesn't have balls and strikes, just outs. That played a part in Brocoff's 3-2 delivery to Roskam as Brocoff thought it was 2-2.

We've got another deliberate Utah pitcher, could be a long game despite the low score.
