Wazzu "pitched off" yesterday and is throwing their ace (Cody Anderson, lefty) today.

Our lineup...

Hallmark getting the start at 3B, Altavilla moves to SS in place of Cronenbold.
Acker starting at CF, Klenke moves to RF, Schreiber to 1B, Roskam to C, Wilkening to DH.
LHP McSteen on the bump.

Huskers are the home team again for this game.

About 800 Husker fans in attendance for an alumni event. Yesterday's attendance was less than 200.

This is McSteen's first start since 23 April 2016.
Was the Saturday starter in 2016 with 7 starts.

Edit: McSteen's 2016 season ended with labrum surgery.

Top 3rd

A HBP and a pickoff gets McSteen a quick 2 outs. The next batter doubles to CF. A walk puts runners on 1st and 2nd but a fly out to RF ends the threat.

On that "First National Bank" commercial a couple minutes ago, did anyone else mishear "your dog, Herbie" as "your dog, Herpe"? They need to enunciate a little better on that word.

Bottom 4th

Leadoff 4 pitch walk for Mojo and a single by Schreiber over 2nd base puts runners on the corners. Roskam grounds out to 1st but Schreiber gets to 2nd in the out, Mojo for some odd reason stays at 3rd. Wilkening with an RBI single to LF! Henwood with a SAC fly to shallow LF scores Schreiber but Wilkening is thrown out trying to take 2nd.

Paul Tillotson (R) warming in the pen, slated to pitch in relief (determined before the game).
Mike Waldron (R) also in the bullpen.

McSteen at 87 pitches as Silva goes to the mound.
Edit: Likely to get one more batter.
Edit: And he gets out of the inning!!! Ends with 90 pitches.

Top 5

McSteen gives up a one out walk otherwise nothing doing as he gets through the inning. He officially became the current pitcher of record as he ends his day.

B1G scores...

Minnesota 9-0 over Kennesaw State top 7th
Michigan 2-0 over Army top 7th
Purdue 0-0 game 2 with Western Michigan bottom 1st
Not too bad of a start for the Big Ten today. We need Rutgers to steal one from Miami.

Bottom 5th

Hallmark with a leadoff double to get it started but unfortunately the next three batters go down in order. Acker had a hit down the line robbed at 3rd that would have scored Hallmark.
