Both of today's starting pitchers started a midweek game on Tuesday, 17 April: NU's Warren vs. Kansas State (43 pitches), Rutgers' Ka. Blum vs. Monmouth (73 pitches).

Our bullpen should be in much better shape than Rutgers' bullpen today. Nebraska used just one reliever each Friday (Eddins-37 pitches) and (Mi. Waldron-49), Rutgers used one on Friday (Brito-7) but four yesterday (Reardon-3, Gerace-85, Wares-38, Murray-48).

Edit: Actually doesn't look nearly that bad when you look at the pitch counts. Brito and Reardon could go again.

Back-to-back singles open the game for Hagge and Schreiber, then a 6-4-3 DP grounded into by Wilkening puts Hagge on 3rd with 2 out.
4-pitch walk to Roskam puts runners on the corners.
5-pitch walk to Altavilla loads the bases.
Diving catch by the SS off the bat of Hallmark leaves the bases juiced.

0-0 M1

Warren was called for a "quick pitch" to earn a ball call, but then struck out the batter.

Handley and McLaughlin have never seen that called.

That base loaded snag hurts but it’s good to see us getting on base. Usually it has a way of working out. Today is a must win since we will be out of conference next week.
