2 weeks out!! Call your shot, 7-5

We start off 2-4. Boat raced at home to Michigan and double digit loss in Champagne. Half are calling Rhule a bad hire half are saying we need to be patient

We hit the bye week. Rhule makes an adjustment on offense, and we win our last 6.

Finish the year 8-4
can you name 3 illinois players without looking?

I really what would have been if Callahan would have made a DC earlie

Rhule just announced that Grant isn't playing until he stops fumbling. This would be Grant, the guy who was the starter last year.
Thats fine, but is the guy after him an all-american? Great teams have great players in every cohort. So we are trading our best runner for a worse runner who doesn't fumble. That isn't a win, it just means the one guy we might rely on offense sucks. People will spin the craziest shit. When we can't get more than 2.6 yards per rush in the first two games, and Grant still plays and fumbled people on this board will be losing it. Maybe we have great depth at RB and that will mean we clean up the fumbles, but trading fumbles for a worse running back isn't going to create more attention to detail, it just puts worse players on the field.

I never understood what people gain from going on another team's message board and pretending to be a fan of that team. Who is their audience? Are they calling their other loser friends and telling them to go check out what I posted on the Inside Nebraska free board? Are they just sitting at their screen in the basement with one hand on the keyboard and the other on their pud jerking with the Jergens?

Too many unknowns and too much faith in Sims. I'm also not buying the Gabe Ervin hype.

Rhule's year 1 teams at both previous stops also struggled. This is a similar trainwreck he needs to unfuch in yr. 1. The kicking game rumblings also concern me.

5-7.

Happy to be wrong.

Iowa sucks. (I'm not wrong about that)

how many of our 12 opponents fit this description?

(I already know you won't answer this question because you are a coward)
The original premise was that coaches cannot create attention to detail without true competition. The idea that coaches caring more about detail transfers to the team is the same bullshit Moos and Frost told about how the Frosty teams would turn around quick because they clean up the plane and clean up the locker room and take care of the small things. That is just bullshit that attempts to justify the massive price tags of these con-artists. Rhule's job #1 is to recruit a deep team with NFL talent at every level and then hold guys accountable, which is easy when you have talent at every level.

Weren't you the guy who was having a mental breakdown because our division is so weak? It is so bad because of terrible recruiting, lack of depth, and no accountability to poor play. There is an appearance then that coaches pick favorites but in reality the back up and 3rd string are just awful, which happens when recruiting classes are full of reaches. Which explains the big 10 west.

I am just amazed that the old guys on here think major college football is still some sort of military role-play where grit, perseverance, focus are the keys to winning. Sure...in a high school conference where the kids are all the same then a coach makes a difference but in an unequal league of 120 teams where teams stockpile players...you have to have your fastest, strongest, best football players on the field...regardless of the soft skills.

We cannot win at a high level without explosive recruiting...mainly because kids can leave in a heartbeat, and you can no longer rely on relationship and development...those days are gone. I think Rhule is a terrible fit for this era of football because he values getting guys ready for the NFL, he could do that for two years, the guy balls out and then transfers to Michigan to win. This class is already full and decent but again more of a developmental class in line with the last 17 recruiting classes which lead to poor play. I wouldn't care if he wasn't front loaded 80 million.
TLDR. Herky. Find a hobby.

What makes you think Gabe Ervin is a scrub? Look at his offer list. Look at his measurables. He started game 1 as a true freshman. The first rb in decades to do that.

Do better when trolling. Do some research. Straight up embarrassing that you pretend to be a Husker fan but pick the worst example on the team to talk about lack of competition.

Wait, you think in HS all the kids are the same and the coaches make the difference? But that in college, the opposite is true?

Most of your HS coaches are coaching for some extra cash or to get the **** out of the house and away from their wife and kids. And the players are all the same? You literally have teams that start 160 pound kids on the line and other teams that have 260 pound kids on the line.

The farther up you go, the closer the players all get in terms of size and talent.

also a 5-7 guy, but I can also see us getting to 7 wins and a bowl game as possible.. I fear the offense is going to be streaky, but if we really pound the rock, I like getting to 7 wins. If not, forget about it.

I get it, we've all been beaten down for way too long, I just think our schedule is easier than we think. We were horrible last year and were still in every game. This year, even if we are mediocre, that means we can beat most of the teams on our schedule. I'm with you that I still have a ton of negativity running through me since we have sucked for so long, but these kids just look different to me this year. They needed some leadership across the board and they got it.

The battered wife syndrome will quickly subside when we beat minny by double digits

7-5 was my prediction as well. The first 2 games will tell a lot.
Before game 1, I predicted we would go 8-4. I saw our defense was improved.
After 2 weeks of watching Sims, and our coach saying he didn't even think of replacing him, I'm switching to 4-8, even though our defense is pretty good and Special Teams are also improved.

Who could have predicted we'd have the worst QB in Division 1 football who cant even field a snap from the shotgun. Averaging a turnover a quarter has to be some kind of record.

I called my shot and got pissed on by the uneducated Homers. You get what you deserve. In the meantime, I am going to the Bahamas completely paid for with my under bet. Didn't say I told you how the hire would pan out? ..Always next year. I am sure Rhule will be a world-beater in 2024.

Everyone would Love this, reality will be less but yes, the schedule is a benefit this year...

Timing being everything DONU needed a schedule like this to built confidence with... especially with what's coming in the next year or two... could be just what the program needed at just the right time...

imagine trying to start a new regime with our recent history with what's coming down the line... that would've been bad

Aaaaaaaaand we fumbled it.... Pun intended
