2 weeks out!! Call your shot, 7-5

hoping for 6-6??

man, you got frosted bad

6-6 would be a colossal failure IMO
We haven't won more than 5 games in what, 5 or 6 years? With all new coaches and systems to learn I think hoping we win 6 games crowns me king of the Kool aid drinkers. 😂

Not sure it would be a colossal failure. More like a step in the right direction. Not ideal, but better than what we've be forced to endure the last few years.

That said, I expect 7 or 8 wins and would be somewhat disappointed in a 6-6 season.

This is battered housewife syndrome

We play 1 team the college football world would deem “good”, and even they can’t compete nationally

Do people not realize NW has won this shitty division more than any other team this past half- decade. Do people think NW is loaded with talent ? 🤣🤣

As others have pointed out a new coaching staff can and should do wonders immediately. It’s not a 4 year rebuild in today’s time. Instant results should be expected through a new coach and the transfer portal.

That doesn’t mean that we should win 11 games but there is no way we should not be an obviously better football in year 1 - especially with all the change last year - head coach, OC, DC, etc the team played through during the season.

Stability is important and the work has been there. Trusting Rhule and staff to bring it home!

6-6 would be an overachievement. We’ll compete in the conference once (IF) we start landing Talent.
I'm sure that you watch the games last few years. The number that were lost because of attention to detail (which is on the coaches) is staggering. I personally believe good coaching fixes that.

I also understand the desire some here have not to be let down again and why you'd set expectations low enough to hedge against that.

I’m of the mindset you know if you had a good hire or not right away.. look at Pelini, Callahan, Riley, Frost.. first year results pretty much told the story

For a new HC...this is a dream schedule.

All the games but one will be +/- 10 on the line. Each team they play has a lame offense and the one team that wants to have an explosive offense, Wisconsin, has a totally new offense and no WR's that scare anyone.

You are wrong. Saban at Alabama and Carroll at USC both had losing records in their first year. It is year two that tells the story. I don't think we can expect Rhule to be a champion but to stabilize the program. Bowl game in 2nd year is probably on track. Recruiting also matters. If he is still sitting barely in the top 25 in recruiting and we are still winning 3-5 games...it is time to start thinking about new staff.

Attention to detail is created by competition more so than coaching. If a guy can't/won't focus, he is replaced by a top level recruit who will. We just don't have the depth to bench guys who make stupid mistakes. That being said...we improved in penalties, turnovers, tackling, field position once Frost and company left but we still lost a lot of games. We have a major talent deficit as evidenced by very few NFL draft picks from a blue blood program.

can you please highlight the opposing teams on our schedule that fit this description?

I don't see more than 3, and even that's a very generous stretch

thanks in advance

(I know you won't do this because you are a coward)

Rhule just announced that Grant isn't playing until he stops fumbling. This would be Grant, the guy who was the starter last year.

I think you're gonna be pretty surprised how willing Rhule will be to bench players who make stupid mistakes.

You’re still lost bro..

Here’s what you’re looking for..

Start of the season, everybody is undefeated and optimistic. New coaching staff, new players and the kool-aid flows.

However, we have to do a reality check. We have nobody on the preseason 3 deep conference team. Our QB savior is rated 5th in the west division. All of our optimism is because of new coaching and guys “stepping up”. So no matter the improved processes, culture and coaching we simply don’t have the talent yet to have a good year.

If Sims stays healthy and does not revert to his turnover habits 6-6 is a good realistic target to aim for. If Sims gets injured or goes back to his old turnover ways hold on for a 2-10. This also is Rhules 1st year pattern.

Neither Saban nor Carroll had losing records their first year. I guess you’re counting the 5 games Bama had to later forfeit but they truly went 7-6 and Carroll went 6-6. Both went to a bowl game year 1 and neither had a losing conference record. Let’s not make shit up ok? Looks like your the one wrong. #facts

Wandering idiots don’t care about trophy’s or facts.

Going to copy you and go with 7-5 as well. Think that's fair enough year 1. Hoping for 9-3 though. 5-7 and under would be a big disappointment. Especially with only having to play Michigan out of the east and ducking PSU and OSU.

Too bad this relatively weak schedule won’t be repeated anytime soon. I have a hard time even predicting a winning season but 8 wins would not be impossible given the schedule.

We start off 2-4. Boat raced at home to Michigan and double digit loss in Champagne. Half are calling Rhule a bad hire half are saying we need to be patient

We hit the bye week. Rhule makes an adjustment on offense, and we win our last 6.

Finish the year 8-4
