Meyers is a big loss for tonight. But that's no excuse. Hohensee has been solid this year. He had one really bad inning (2nd).

Wow, Ben Miller had a really rough game this evening. Leaving guys on base again too. Jeesh..

Soooooo as it sits, if everyone at the top wins out, Minnesota will be conference champs. Grrrrrrr.

While correct, I wouldn't bet on Minnesota winning out. Their pitching staff will be extremely taxed as they play 8 games in 9 days...
12 May (L, 2-3) vs. Long Beach State
13 May vs. Long Beach State
14 May vs. Long Beach State
15 May OFF DAY
16 May DOUBLEHEADER vs. Rutgers
17 May OFF DAY
18 May vs. Purdue
19 May vs. Purdue
20 May vs. Purdue

If they win all of those last 5 games in 5 days, a tip of the cap to them.

And then good luck to them heading into the Big Ten tournament 4 days later. Already rough that there is short rest for each the last week of the regular season and the conference tournament, but that pitching staff is going to be extra taxed after 5 games in 5 days and 8 games in 9 days.

But yes, sucks we couldn't take advantage of all those runners on base in the back half of last night's game. Really shat the bed. The DP to end the 8th was extremely deflating.

Quite obvious losing Jake might have costed us in this series.. We'll see if he can pitch on Sunday and how affective he will be.

Jeebus. It's baseball. The team just won 6 straight. Even the best teams lose games.
True. But it is self inflicted. Being in a must win situation because of some unforeseen and unfortunate bad losses. What ever the case, it's the situation they are in.

Don't run through a blatant stop sign. More importantly, don't start a .146 hitter at DH in the #2 spot (see the 8th inning double play). Don't start a CF who's hitting .200 when you have a guy available who is at least 60 points higher than that. The best teams may lose games, but rarely do they take so many easily avoidable paths to get there. We'll never know what would have happened with Hagge in the outfield and literally any other player at DH, but I can't think of any justification for not putting your best starting 9 out there with a damned conference title in the balance. Like 66 said, lots of self-inflicted garbage in this game.

Man, seeing all of those written out is depressing.

It reminds me of the scene in Arrested Development when George Sr. hears the full list of charges for the first time and flees the courtroom.
