11-29 PC notes Ty and Blaise done, Gabe, Rahmir and Ben Scott coming back

Rhule says we'll probably have between 1-3 guys drafted and between 3-6 guys in NFL camps next preseason

Newsome the only one he's confident will be picked in this year's draft (I agree)

Me too buddy. I need a time machine to take us back to the 80's and 90's. Winning. Country was way better off as well. Music, movies, etc...
And during the 80s guys languished on the roster who likely could have been starters in other P5 programs. The number of ordinary college students who transfer from the college they start at is fairly high. Why should we expect football players to be any different. I don’t like the tampering going on but once the door was opened legally to payments it’s not surprising.

Good lord...imagine being like 21 years old and you already want to get married instead of hanging with the dudes, playing sports and partying.

I thought NU had a dude that helped this players make smart choices. "So...you are like 21, 22 years old? And, you want to leave school and football to go farm...wait...and get married? Haha, nice try, who sent you in here with this load of BS, Did Garret send you in here, that dude and his jokes, get out of here man, come on, go have fun"

Good luck!

If you know you want to farm and get married, its alot easier to find a wife while you are a football player at UNL, than when you are an ex-football player living on a farm.

Sounds like a great dude who knows what he wants...and wants to get started doing it. Beats the crap out of 6th or 7th year players who can't admit it's time to hang it up (years ago)

Hell, that is fine, hang it up if you don't want to play anymore.

Which is why teams rarely have depth nowadays.

I'm hearing that Rhule's plan is to continue to develop the current roster. He likes the RB roster with Gabe and Rahmir returning and has a higher opinion of Chubba's and HH's potential than most on the board. For better or worse, most of the Oline returns and the starters look to be Teddy, JEJ, Scott, open (Corc?) and possibly Benhart. I could see a WR out of the portal unless they can get Washington a waiver.
The math on going whole hog in the portal isn't there, unless they are going to cull the commit list.

While I can understand that it seems odd...

Last year HH started because of Sims getting hurt...then HH got "hurt" but was probably fine to play but they went with Chubba.

Now they are saying they are happy with what they have...when last year those guys were really not expected to play?

As I understand the flow of injuries, Sims and HH were healthy at the start of the season, Chubba was not. Sims didn't pan out and was injured in game two, HH was healthy and Chubba was available, so HH got the nod and moved the dial. He progressively got dinged up and was not available. Sims and Chubba were both ready when HH went out, Sims played and then was pulled, and Chubba played the rest of the season.
I'm sure they'll kick the tires on some QBs, but as Rhule has stated, they aren't prioritizing one and done type guys out of the portal.

“Will tell players if they are going to start or not”????
What? How can you know this early who will start and who won’t? Not a good look, and could perhaps explain why we played sims to begin with which cost us the minnesota game and also why our backup O line was better than our starters.

Having said that, hipefully he tells sims tomorrow that he is NOT starting.

Also, if a good QB costa 1-2 mil, I better hear that we pay 3. If we arent going to pony up, theres no reason to be in the big ten.
