    College sports are dead

I'm old. I wasn't a fan of Penn St. Coming in. But, it's turned into a rival over time. I love that Nebraska is in the Big 10. Maryland and Rutgers leaves a lot to be desired. I think iowa has only played them 4 times, and 2 times respectively. Depending on where this ends and how many...

    Big portal DL visiting

Just a thought....what happens when some of these 500k guys don't produce? How far will boosters go to keep throwing money at kids?

Because maybe it's not an issue

    Talent -v- Discipline

CO I think one thing your observations are touching on is KF is in year 23, so Iowa fans are well versed in his system. He has had very little turnover during that time. Two defensive coordinators, three offensive coordinators. He has lost a few position coaches...including one who...

Minnesota puts up a very Nebraska stat line

Might be a little bit of both. Iowa is atrocious on offense...Padilla is somewhat serviceable

Minnesota puts up a very Nebraska stat line

But look at Nebraska...how many games over the last 4 years have they dominated their opponents on offense and lost games...how many this year alone? Field position. Turnovers, and preventing big plays are far more important that gaudy offensive numbers. Iowa ran 42 plays today and scored 27...

Minnesota puts up a very Nebraska stat line

I'm not claiming to know any more than anyone else. But in my 26 year coaching high school, efficiency far outweighs production regarding stats. Regarding Iowa, I would bet in their last 100 wins as a program...probably the last 13-15 years...they have been outlined 55 to 60 times. They...

    OU recruiting

I wish I would have saved it..but I saw a pic of their recruiting weekend recently, and they had multiple sports cars in the end zones of the stadium. One being a Shelby Mustang....im aware of their history..but is that what these things are coming to?

Ezra Miller, former Iowa OT, in portal

He had to transfer if he ever wanted to play football again. Iowa allowed him to remain on a full scholarship once he said he couldn't play again because of an injury. But in doing so means he couldn't play for Iowa again....thats the NCAA. Otherwise teams could exceed the 85 scholarship max...

    Keegan Johnson

Perhaps we are swapping legacy players. I think you get Bollers...his dad played for Iowa. I also think you get fidone.

In South Dakota Thursday night, Pierre beat Spearfish 103-0. This was a playoff game. Yes, I typed that correctly.

FWIW: Hawkeyes Shelling Out the Big Bucks

Doyle is worth it based on his results. He has been the biggest reason for a lot of these 2 and 3 star kids playing in the NFL.

    Visitor this weekend Blaise Gunnerson

Hawks have no shot here. From what I have heard, BG is a great kid and only visited Iowa out of respect. He is yours or ISU's. And, the Hawks just got a verbal from a Minnesota kid yesterday, so that pretty much seals the deal that Iowa is out.

400 lb bench press and beyond hopefully

I know no one cares.. But I bet Iowa has fewer than 5 kids who can bench 400 or more. The Hawks S&C guy is not into the bench as he says it isn't a functional football movement. Squats, cleans, and core are his major areas. The only time he give much attention to it is for the kids heading to...

Get to know Nebraska’s new quarterbacks coach Mario Verduzco

I've been a HS coach for 25 years. Got to know Mario when he was at UNI. Great guy...great coach. I will say...in a positive light....he has mastered the use of the "F" bomb like Michelangelo mastered his mediums.

    Momentum for Iowa....

I would almost net my house that the huskers win. Maybe by even three scores. I'm not sure the Hawks could score 20 points in team warm ups ..I'm serious in thinking it might be a 35-13 game
  18. B

how far have we fallen off...?

For the hawks a big part of that was Ferentz going 4-18 in his first two years. Frankly, with the talent Hayden left 4 wins was a he'll of a coaching job.

    Hawkeyes with their hands full

I have a feeling the winner of the Black Friday game will be 8-4, and the loser 7-5. Probably not enough room for either side to be throwing stones right now
