Football Boston College opt-outs update

Boston College edge Donovan Ezeiruaku and starting RT Ozzy Trapilo have opted to not play in the Pinstripe Bowl against Nebraska on Saturday.

Good news for the Huskers.

Here's more on the BC Eagles and what to expect. Disregard to Ezeiruaku and Trapilo mentions:

Funny story..or not

Im gonna try and keep this as short as possible but it won't be..My friend has a daughter who is getting her Masters Degree at Tennessee. So last fall they made plans to go to the Alabama game. He was put in charge to get 6 tickets for he and his wife, daughter and boyfriend, and his brother and sister in law. (Poor choice putting him in charge but I digress). I wanna say it was through Ticketmaster, but could be another site. He picks out 6 tickets for something like $3800 and he said the site tells him make sure this is what you want because all sales are final, no refunds yada yada yada. He pushes send and then a few seconds later realizes he purchased tickets for the Florida game! So of course he panics. Gets on the phone, for multiple days, and just gets the runaround, so basically he's stuck with $3800 worth of tickets he isn't gonna use. However, he could try to resell them himself on the site and decides this is the best option...btw he has not told his wife or anyone else any of this.

In the meantime he buys 6 tickets for the Alabama game for something like $4500, so he's into this for close to $8000 now. (He obviously is not a nosebleed section kinda guy) A couple weeks later he sells his Florida tickets and recoups most of what he paid so is feeling pretty good..or so he thought. Turns out he was scammed. So now he lost his tickets and has no way of getting any money for them. (I'm not sure how a scam works with online tickets but whatever) He finds out that this is a fairly common problem with these sites.

So, fast forward a couple months and after hours and hours of time on the phone and constant runaround he somehow was able to get most of his money back from Ticketmaster (or whatever site it was). He said the website did everything they could to get out of any responsibility but he kept pushing with the advice of a lawyer friend.

What makes this kinda funny is none of us were surprised at all through this ordeal. Lars is a guy with two Masters degrees and zero common sense degrees. He is the epitome of the word egghead. He has absolutely no sense of detail, time, order, etc. So this blunder is not something surprising to any of us that know him. We love the guy but he drives us all crazy.

Most of us probably have a friend like this, but here's an example. I play a lot of golf with him and here's a typical day..Say we have a 9 o'clock tee time in a tournament at his course and I'm staying at his house. He wakes up at 8:15, turns on the news, reads the paper, has some breakfast and tries to engage in some type of conversation, oblivious of the time. So I will remind him of our 9 o'clock tee time and he will then decide he needs a "quick shower" around 8:45. Forgets his clubs on the way to the course, goes back and gets them and steps on the tee at 9:01, shirt half way tucked in, one sock pulled up and one folded over, shoes untied and none of his clothes matching in the least.. Of course, I'm just the opposite. I'm AT the course at 8:15 warming up, getting the cart, food and drinks, etc. all lined up so I've learned to just drive separately.

Are the Iowa Clarkeyes really that pathetic that they need the refs in every sport?

Such a sickening game to watch in the 2nd half. The ref is literally standing right in front of the Clarkeye ready to choke the game away and, OH FOUL, IT's A FOUL! It's the FOUL ON NEBRASKA! What double dribble that every single person in the arena saw?

Then you have Freeman setting moving screens at the top of the key in plain sight of everybody. Got the Clarkeye trying to impregnate Gary on the sideline pushing him out with his glans.

And then obviously the B1G is not drug testing Sanfort and Sons. Kid airballs a 1-footer and looks like he is having a Nam flashback every time the camera zooms in on him. Get him DNA tested with his cousins immediately as well.

Also, I love Kent and grew up listening to football games with him in the 90's but it is time for somebody to step in there. I don't listen to the radio much but had to step out from watching the game at literally the last seconds of regulation only for Kent to make me think I missed some crucial minute there. But I do agree with him that this is the year. A little Corso-like...

Costa Rica experience recs

Headed to Costa Rica in March for our honeymoon trip. We’ll be flying into Liberia and spending our time in La Fortuna and Tamarindo.

Staying at Nayara Springs for four nights then four at Cala Luna in Tamarindo. We’re doing one night at Suitree on the way back to the airport.

What are some must do/must see experiences while we are there? Food/tours/destinations, etc.

We aren’t wanting to put too many miles on in this trip; we spent 10 days in Iceland in September and drove ~4500 km on the ring road. But we still want to do some memorable things while there. Definitely hiking around Arenal and doing the hanging bridges. Considering a day trip to Nicaragua from Tamarindo.

Mostly looking forward to the coffee and sects. Other recommendations greatly appreciated.
