Perhaps. Passionate - most likely; knowledgeable - probably Husker fans more so - supportive - not sure here: Hawkeyes seem to be more forebearing but their record is far superior to ours this year so we'll see if and when
they lose and whether Husker fans can stick with the new regime, one win over a top-10 team obviously does
not constitute a winning year but 2 more games will tell a lot.
As far as Iowans and Nebraskans being the same or similar folks, yes, they are: passionate but prejudiced -
is this the Midwest DNA; conservative politically - well, yeah, could mean that the majority of residents in both
states are somewhat ignorant and intolerant of differing life-styles and points of view. Not terribly impressed
with the attitudes shown often in both states. If "birds of a feather" stick together, then Nebraska and Iowa
flock together.....too bad; otherwise the people are wonderful unless you have a world view.....not this insular view. Why do you think so many young people leave these states? end of rant. ha

Iowa is conservative politically? That's a uncommon opinion.

While there are some strong conservatives in the state, mostly the evangelicals, they are for the most part the minority. Iowa certainly isn't deep blue but it is purple and certainly more blue than red.

So if you want to call Nebraskans intolerant i am fine by that but Iowa often has been a leader in civil liberties and deeply value the equal protections clause of the Iowa constitution.

Nothin says minority like a Republican governor and republican state house (57 to 43). The state senate is 26 democrats to 24 republicans. The senators at the federal level are both republican. And the officials in the house of representatives are 3 republicans and 1 democrat. Democrat math, it's not just for common core anymore.

Iowa is a purple state that is primarily red in the west and blue in the east. In the middle lies a very strong contingent of independent voters who will vote for who they feel the best candidate is as opposed to toting the party lines. If you feel that Iowa is strongly republican I encourage you to look at the the results of the General Presidential election for the past 30 or so years and it looks as though that trend will continue in 2016.

I was saying Iowa is not a blue state. Are you disputing that?
