It would be beyond short sighted stupidity to can Rhule any time soon. I’ve listened to people who I think have a pretty good handle on Florida’s situation who say they believe the analytics favor keeping Napier as well.

I'm just looking at it from the angle of there very well could be a longer leash for some coaches in the NIL world. You need ever dollar you can get to pay players.

Base pay + performance incentives + minimal long term guarantees.

Coaches repeatedly prove themselves unworthy of the crazy contracts they get.

Very few people can imagine being terrible at their job and walking away with millions.

I would like to see our head coaches extended out about 5 years or so, but not much longer. Every year, get another year tacked on as long as things are well.

But if things are rough, the extensions are paused until you right the ship or are fired.

My question from that article, is that shared with all sports or just football? If it's all sports, and NIL is banned, how is that allocation determined? Do we return of the days of the "clandestine bagmen"?

Can universities supplement that model with something that smells like NIL or set a higher budget?

No one is actually literally calling for a Rhule firing because we know Neb can’t afford it yet. Staff needs to go though because Rhule is a shit coach and only is as good as his assistants (see Bobby Bowden)
I literally have seen our current staff outcoach the other side in one half of one game (Colorado 1st half) in nearly two years now.

That said, the dumbass universities like us better realize, shorter HC contracts are the way to go. If a coach won’t do it, then you know he’s a sack of shit.
If he knows he will win big, he will sign a short deal with automatic extension triggers written in

I don’t know. I did hear some on that I’m not sure if it had to be same pay for every athlete or not. One thing for certain is that more wins will equal more NIL $ coming in! That’s why we must start winning more.

And, we all know that Rhule isn’t an elite coach and never will be. We are literally batting an 0 for 6 since TO retired
And we fired statistically the two best of those 6 after a 10 and 9 win season.

Rhule has 3 more years tops IMO unless he makes big changes
