These are world class athletes wearing a USA jersey, instead of looking for reasons to root for failure why not just continue to ignore it (womens sports)per usual?

I get what you are saying...but the women do that stuff SO that people will "watch"...you need to think of it as a soap opera and the players are actors. Not that they do/don't believe in what they say, but it is all calculated by them and their agents (as it should be if they are trying to maximize their value)

If Rapinoe could get just as money money/exposure/endorsements by NOT doing any of the stuff she does/says, she would.

You read WAY too much into what I posted. Not outraged but if I were it'd be genuine. This same team in 2018 or 2019 was pictured with everyone with their hands on their chest. What changed? And you may have missed my biggest point.....those American players live a lifestyle most around the world envy but most of them are too self-important to show their gratitude. The Vietnamese players, not anywhere near the wealth but they sure love them some Vietnam.

Yep I knew about that 5 years ago. Be pissed if you want but to still be pissed when YESTERDAY there was no such protest seems like an act in futility. Yesterday was just business as usual. This isn't even an issue. Lately between movies, music and this it seems like if this is what people are upset about things must be pretty good. It's all manufactured outrage. It's summer... Relax and don't let athletes you'd never give a second of your attention a mile of your head space.

Im not going to bag on female athletes like some sad dudes on here who must have been told how small they are by multiple women, but sometimes they don't help themselves.

For me this is the USNWT soccer team bitching about equal pay when they make more and the women's world cup makes dick all. Also some in the WNBA who constantly bitch about pay when their league isnt really even solvent.

In the past Rapinoe has kneeled repeatedly. However as far as I know it's been years since. There were no protests of any sort last evening and from the USA side I can't imagine there will be any going forward. This is the best team in the world and they are there to make history.

Now that the kneelings are over, and nothing changed that she was looking to change, she is on to fighting for biological men to play in women's sports. Is that enough for me to not like her? I mean, now that she is retiring she won't have to compete against the biological men, so what does she care. She can just continue to get her face on TV knowing damn well, any future decisions won't affect her. She is a clown.

Let's hope we win it this year! The team is a great mix of veteran and young players. It's an incredibly deep roster. However, the rest of the world is catching up and the USWNT certainly has a gigantic target on their backs.

The locations in NZ and Australia are amazing but the time difference really makes watching live a challenge. I know that AO:Omaha and AO:Lincoln had great turnouts for the first game but won't be able to have many more as bars aren't going to stay open for a 2 am game. I'm sad that I'm not in Omaha to watch at Barrett's but glad that the games are available on Fox.

Having watched Pinoe play with Seattle/OL Reign over the years it's bittersweet to see her playing career come to an end as she has been an amazing spokesman (along with other players) for women's soccer as well as a gifted player. But it's time.

My oldest is heading to the final 2 matches and hopefully will witness his 3rd world cup ceremony for the USWNT.

Which begs the question, why is she no longer kneeling for the anthem? Is her outrage manufactured too? She seems like the type that continually searches for something to be discontent about but then moves on when whatever issue she’s fixating on becomes passé.

Ironically, she’s been given as much, if not more opportunity than most will ever get… all while being a part of what she considers to be one of this country’s numerous disadvantaged groups.

I’ll watch and support the USWNT, but I have very little respect for her.

Someone born with a penis should not be allowed to play women's sports. When I was a sophomore in High School our .500 JV boys soccer team had a scrimmage against the Varisity girls team (Got 2nd at state that same year). Our JV boys team won 5-0, and we were as average as they come.
