On September 28th, 2013, Wisconsin played at Ohio State. Since that game, their schedule has included the following Big Ten teams :

Purdue, Northwestern, Illinois, Iowa, and Minnesota all twice. That's not a big deal those are division teams.

They've also played Indiana, Rutgers, and Maryland. They also drew Penn State at home in 2013 and the Huskers at home in 2014.

In 2015, they again get Maryland and Rutgers for cross over league games. Wisconsin's schedule is so easy next season that they could conceivably beat 11 teams with losing records.

The Bama game is a for sure loss. Wisconsin loses too many players to even make that game competitive in week one.

Then let's say they lose to Nebraska and Minnesota. And neither is a gimme loss. Minnesota is losing so many great players that they might not have the recruiting depth to reload. The Huskers obviously have the new coaching transition as well. But for the sake of argument, lets say Wiscy loses those games. They could have 0 wins over winning teams and still draw a nice bowl berth.

There is a very real possibility that the rest of their schedule finishes.500 or worse in 2015. Maryland might be able to squeeze out 7 or 8 wins, but that's no gimme.

Take nothing away from Wiscy blowing out the Huskers. They earned it, but they're also being given the chance to survive the physicality of the league a bit more as well.
