wisc destroying PED St

As crazy as it may sound, this team may have actually overachieved. re: All conference teams. Blame injuires all day but every team had them, ours werent different. OSU destroyed us and would again. We do not match up with them and we hung with Wisky but lost, no excuses, we had our chances but didnt convert.

I think depth issues still haunt us for a few more years. It takes time to bukd things back up across the board and one class wont do it. More like 4-5 good classes in a row and addressing the weak areas which we hace plenty of.

We face this Penn State next year. They are on a roll and playing very tough ad they are young.

Disagree. We did as well as we did despite all our injuries and lack of depth. Next your will be much improved in that regard. I'm guessing the wild card would be at QB. I'm sure that most of us are ready to roll the dice and see what a pro style quarterback can do in this offense. I'm happy for this year and excited about our future.

9-3 (bowl game pending)

It all is QB and OL when we get the settled we will tough. The open receivers have been bountiful, need time and a QB who can pass

Didn't watch, but I assume, based on the OP, that Wisconsin won. Congrats to the Badgers.

What do you exactly disagree with? Given our overall talent, 9-3 is good. Wisconsin had injuries when we played them so why are ours worse? We have lots of rebuilding to do and just looking at how our kids placed on conference teams tells a lot. We have a long ways to go to get depth across the board, long ways.

Sorry if I didn't understand your other post. At first I thought it was a cut on our team. Actually, I think we could have done better if we weren't in such bad shape with our depth due to past recruiting woes. You are right. We have no control of injuries. It may take a couple more years to fully stock the team we will need to compete for a B1G championship. I just hope that the majority of our fans can be patient enough to know that we were not loaded with talent when HCMR took over.

Bad thing about PSU winning this thing is that it gives yet another conference school more credibility for recruiting

I think most people can see that Riley inherited a thin and pretty mediocre pool of talent. Of course it's hard to keep this in mind when we're being told week after week that NU would "easily handle" teams that we didn't play - especially when these are teams for which we don't have more than 4 or 5 players that would crack the starting lineup.

All teams have injuries

Penn ST's line was decimated going into this game

Their line for the game consisted of 3 freshman (one true and 2 RS), a SO and senior center.

This is on a team w limited depth due to the recent probation

This ongoing narrative bemoaning our injuries without realizing that all these teams have significant issues as well are just attempts at manufacturing sunshine.

Wisconsin had just as many key injuries as we did (if not more significant) when we played them

9-3 is a hell of a year for this staff.

we don't have to start proclaiming how we would beat Penn State and others if we just didn't have any injuries.

We would have been significant underdogs to either team last night

Penn St has an awful lot of talent returning next year

guys.. the best thing that could happen to your is TA graduating... he is painfully awful at times and prob would have been better at safety. Where you really gotta get better is at the point of attack on DL/OL.. Mike Riley teams are not known for opposing their will, he would be a better fit in the Big12. In fact Nebr would be better off in the Big12 if you wanted titles.. this league will be hell on you.

You may get a good year every now an then, but it will be tough to match the physicality of PSU, OSU, UM, Iowas, and MSU year in and year out.

RECRUITING
*PSU can dominate from Virgina to NY
*Urban Meyer can recruit anybody he wants
*Jim Harbaugh can get beat USC guys fro Cali, players that Nebr would never get
*MSU takes thugs from Akron, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Detroit, Flint.. guys right off the parole board roster

Nebraska fans are great, but 18yo studs are mostly coming to Nebr cuz they didn't get UM, OSU, UT, aTM offers.. you will have to
a. be very shrewd id'ing talent
b. really coach guys up (tough w Riley.. an offense first guy who has had HORRID d's)

Ignorance is bliss, isn't it?

Deiontae Watts - offers from Oklahoma, Texas, a&m, USC, UCLA, Tennessee among others...
Guy Thomas - offers from Alabama, Auburn, FSU, Louisville, Georgia, LSU, Miami, Michigan, among others
Robert Porcher - offers from Michigan, Louisville, Arizona, ASU, USC, VaTech, among others...
Broc Bando - offers from Georgia, Louisville, Mississippi State
Deontre Thomas - offers from Michigan, Arkansas, ASU, Ole Miss, a&m among others
Avery Roberts - offers from ASU, Clemson, Louisville, Miami, Miss State,Oklahoma, Oregon, Penn State, Stanford, among others...
Tristan Gebbia - Alabama, ASU, Miami, Louisville, Ole Miss, Washington among others...
Keshawn Johnson Jr. - Alabama, Arizona, ASU, Clemson, FSU, Louisville, Miami, Ole Miss, tOSU, Tennessee, UCLA, USC, among others...
Jaevon McQuitty - Michigan among others...
9 of our 15 players committed so far have some pretty impressive offers that you claim we don't have... Let me guess... each of these offers aren't committable offers?

He's not saying that we would have got rolled. He says we can compete with either of these teams. I agree with that.

I will say it...we would have been rolled yesterday by either opponent. Maybe not in the future with the incoming flux of talent coming in but it would have been ugly yesterday for the Huskers. Winking

Planored was referring to a healthy Nebraska with a healthy TA. :)
