I said last week that I think this team goes on a big winning streak. Tomorrow is win #2 of that streak and it continues to Micigan State. I also think tomorrow will have us and Northwestern and Iowa atop the West standings...and we are better than both those teams.

Hope you're right.

With the big time talent we have coming back our offense will be even better.

Our run defense has been pretty stout...and frankly nobody in the West is even running the ball worth a flip. Have you seen Wisky's rushing numbers so far? How about Minnesota? Forget about touchdowns...they are lucky to get a few first downs. The gophers are 85th in rushing and Wisky is 55th..and that's with qbs who shot put the ball.

With getting guys back from injury, we should run the table in the West.

I thought Northwestern was leading the BIG in rushing?

don't know the offense will be even better. have not played a good defense this year. ill doesn't have good defense but Wisconsin, northwestern, Minnesota does. msu might might have some weakness but the dline will be the best Nebraska plays this year and the lb are really good

I admire the fact that you are willing to put out an educated opinion based on your in depth observations of the team and division

Based on your knowledge of the game you are predicting we should run the table in the West ... hope you are correct ... in part the remainder of the season will reflect on whether or not you know jack about the game

at least you can laugh at all of us as we try to scramble for conference championship game tickets at the last minute as I'm sure based on the cake walk that is the West you have yours purchased already

Sweet!! Our field position is going to be significantly better after our opponents score!!

No need to scramble...there will be plenty. Which team in the West is more talented than us?

Wisconsin, Iowa, Minnesota and NW all have commensurate talent to our current active roster
I don't believe we will run the table in the West ... you are on record saying we will

Is a winning streak different in football? Don't we have to win 3 in a row to call it a winning streak?

I think we can. Our only loss i predict will be to Michigan State. I originally said 11-1 or 10-2 with the other loss to Miami.

To go undefeated in conference in the regular season is a tall order. Here are the BIG teams that ran the table thus far:

OSU 2012, 2013 and 2014; MSU 2013

Here are the teams with one loss:
MSU 2011 and 2014
Neb 2012
Wisky 2014

Do you think the 2015 edition of Nebraska is on par with any of these teams one loss teams?

Who gives a rip about talent if it isn't utilized? Iowa, Wisc, NW are all playing better football right now, and if Minn. had an offense (which they will find against us), I would include them also. Just watch a few of their games without the rose-colored glasses and you will clearly see it. Or better yet, listen to DiNardo & Mason on BTN - they've been saying all yr - we aren't good on defense, our running game is so/so, we're committing way too many penalties, etc.

I said in the West. I think we lose to Mich State but it will be close. We always play Mich State tough.

I really hope you're right about the win streak, but as of now I'm not convinced we will go on one. Before the season I guessed anywhere from 8-10 wins. I figured MSU and OSU in CCG would be losses, plus a game or two more, realistically. I'll be the first to admit I didn't expect us to lose to both BYU and Miami. Still staying positive, but how we are playing on defense means every game is a possible loss and we can't afford to overlook anyone. I also think we can play with everyone on our schedule, even MSU. Playing with someone doesn't always translate to wins, though. I'm staying positive, and each week I will be positive and supportive of the team.

That's dumb. Here is the average recruiting rankings the last five years...
MN 52 73 61 52 52 Avg. 58
NW 88 61 53 68 55 Avg. 65
WI 40 57 57 33 37 Avg. 44.8
IA 30 43 53 59 58 Avg. 48.6
NU 15 25 17 32 31 Avg. 24

We are ranked on average twenty spots higher then the next closest competitor. Everybody has losses and attrition but twenty spots is a huge difference.

recruiting rankings don't mean jack ... NFL scouts evaluate talent based on play in college games not on high school rankings.. I suggest you watch the games rather than searching rivals rankings from years ago

even if you go with your premise that we are more talented than anyone in the West - mathematically your prediction that we "run the table in the West" is absurd

if, based on talent, you give Neb a 70% chance of winning each individual game against NW, Iowa, Wisc, Minn (which is inflated) and a 90% of beating Illinois and Purdue the probability we "run the table in the West" = 19%

Recruiting rankings don't mean Jack when you have an agenda. I said for years rankings weren't that important and was nailed by the usual suspects over and over and over. So now I have bought in.

Tom, you have an agenda too, and it seeps through pretty much all of your posts.

Or they do mean something when you have an agenda.

We are 20 spots higher in the team rankings vs. the next closes team in the West. Now...if we are talking about Ohio State...we are far inferior in talent. However, on our side of the conference the idea that other teams are more talented than us is ridiculous.
