How can a coach that was able to win at Iowa State can't hardly win a game to save his life at Nebraska?
We’re all asking the same questions you, and the rest of the league, is asking. Some of the performances this year have some of us wanting to scrap basketball, and add hockey. He was way ahead of the curve on utilizing transfers. He brought in some talented players who had some character/off court issues at other schools, built an incredible chemistry, and had everyone buying in 100% It sounds weird to even say now, but transfers had a negative stigma, even 10 or so years ago.
Now the transfer portal is a normal part of life for teams and players of all levels - thats an edge Hoiberg no longer has.
Yes indeed. Why can't we play like this more often?Did ok today

The pandemic hurt everyone, not just Nebraska.Nebraska doesn't have a college basketball history that Iowa State has had. Johnny Orr and Tim Floyd were pretty good. Fred Hoiberg arrived at a college basketball desert, with excellent facilities, when he arrived in Lincoln. The pandemic didn't help.

Then why did guys like Danny Nee and Tim Miles have winning seasons at least half the time?Nebraska doesn't have a college basketball history that Iowa State has had. Neither of them had to get their program off the ground right as a pandemic shut down the country and noone could visit. Then why did guys like Danny Nee and Tim Miles have winning seasons at least half the time?
It happens every time we hire a coach. That's why I'm not yelling for Fred to be hired. It really doesn't matter. Neb ain't no basketball school. How can a coach that was able to win at Iowa State can't hardly win a game to save his life at Nebraska?
Tim Miles sucked lol. Bad example. Then why did guys like Danny Nee and Tim Miles have winning seasons at least half the time?
Not as bad as Hoiberg does.Tim Miles sucked lol. Bad example.
It's not that Hoiberg is bad, we have certainly had our share of bad coaches. It's the fact that Hoiberg is so bad, he makes Barry Collier look like a coaching genius. It happens every time we hire a coach. That's why I'm not yelling for Fred to be hired.
