Figured there would be a bunch of threads already about some speculation on baseball coaches to replace erstad. I am not too sure about Will Bolt. Even Justin Seely. I want a head coach with P5 HC experience. Also, do not want anything to do with Iowa athletics so Rick Heller would not ignite something in my pants either. IMO any head coach in the SEC would be fine. What if Dave Van Horn wanted a second run at the Huskers? Throw a line out at Pat Casey. Not sure how well George Horton would do with Midwest recruiting either.

i think writers just look at our board and then take a name or two, deny the rumors, just to see

My top 5 in order.

1. Greg Lovelady

2. Dan Heefner

3. Pat Casey

4. Jeff Duncan

5. Rob Childress

Zero reasons one of those 5 is not our next coach. All are reasonable gets if the effort is made. I view anything outside of this as a lack of commitment to the program.

Just depends on if you want a young guy or a proven p5 coach.

Childress was never a realistic option. And Pat Casey? Why would he come out of retirement to coach at Nebraska? I'm sure he could have kept going at Oregon State as long as he wanted. Unless there is more to that story, you should scratch him off your list too.

Well, I guess if Moos was going to hit two home runs and and a sac bunt for hires. I guess I would have preferred the sac bunt to be in baseball. Bolt will do about like Erstad did. disappointing hire.
