Why is practice at night on the weekends?

I thought one of the main motivations for night practice was kids having summer school classes? Do they have class on the weekend too?

I may be somewhat cynical, but is the real reason that practice is at night so the players don't have time or energy to go out and potentially get in trouble? Just throwing that out there...
