Why doesn't the NCAA investigate Alabama for in proper benefits to its football players? That's right because Nick Saban is God and Alabama is untouchable and the football darling of college football. I have seen pictures on Twitter with Alabama players with their new vehicles holding cash. The NCAA isn't going to do anything because they have no back bone.

Maybe some day they will get what's coming to them... But we shouldn't hold our breath.

We have all seen those photos. The whole world has seen them. They are viral. Pretty sure the NCAA would be investigating if the photos really are what they claim to be. Not buying the idea that the NCAA would never investigate Saban.

We have no way of knowing the context for any of the photos or the honesty and motives of whoever put the montage together. Heck, we can't even be certain if any of the photos have been photoshopped.

And I hate Saban and Bama. But my gut tells me there is more to those photos than meets the eye

$EC =ESPN=BIG $$$$= Not going to happen! NCAA is Bama's b!+ch and they know it.

There is absolutely nothing illegal about those photos. Secondly, there is nothing you can prove.

I guarantee everyone of those vehicles is in the name of a parent, guardian, or some other relative. The NCAA doesn't have the legal authority or resources to chase paper trails in relation to licensing, purchasing, financing, or even Employment verification.

Bottom line in is a player has a right to drive a vehicle. A family member has the right to give him one. The NCAA can probably assume my Uncle, a TV repairman, doesn't have the means to purchase a $25,000 used Dodge Charger, and then add $5000 worth of rims and tinted windows. But there is no way in hell they can prove it.

It's fine, is Bama skirting the rules and probably breaking some? Yes. Is almost every team in major college football doing the same thing? Yes, but no one cares because only Bama is historically dominant.

Isn't Saban best buds with the top investigators or some shit?

Think one would have better luck sending the IRS to investigate Alabama. No-one has to talk or give the NCAA the time of day! At least the IRS can ask where the cash and cars came from and if they earned it fine, if not the answers better be good ones. There wouldn't be any wild goose chases or poor excuses accepted.

so the question is, does warren buffet have all the family members of "football" recruits driving lamborgini and bugati, and if not, why?

There was an article on some website a couple of years ago where an SEC bagman explained the whole process. It's untraceable, and since it's not technically illegal, no body with subpoena power can really investigate it. It would require an investigative journalist to poke around and get people on the record admitting to providing illegal benefits. Local journalists know that doing so would put their jobs and possibly lives in jeopardy for uncovering something that in the ultimate scheme of things isn't that important.

Take away whatever you want and the best of the best are still going to look at Alabama. For now they are the NEW YORK, NEW YORK of college football if you can make it there you can make it anywhere.

this is so funny coming from a fan base who idolizes good ole Barry Switzer and those Oklahoma teams

Exactly...it is the NCAA not the FBI/CIA/KGB all rolled into one.

They do have the legal authority to chase paper trails. Resources and desire, probably not.

I don't think it's the cheating, or even the getting away with it that bothers people, it's the pretending that the reason Saban is so successful is that he's an all time great coach. He's really good, but he isn't a particularly great football mind. He manages to get the most out of an extraordinarily talented roster, which is pretty impressive, but his genius defense, stacked with NFL talent has been shredded multiple times the past few years. Switzer, for all of his dishonesty, took his punishment and no one ever claimed he was an Xs and Os genius (though he was pretty underrated in that regard.) I don't hate Saban, I don't even mind that he succeeds due to boosters buying him players, I just don't like the ridiculous theater where the media pretend that he's a latter day Knute Rockne. There are some coaches coaching right now who would do as well or better with his roster and who, all booster shenanigans being equal would recruit just as well.

The amount of penis envy from some on here is some next level stuff.

Saban is just a "good" coach. Every good player is on the payroll, that is the only reason Alabama is good and there are multiple coaches that can do what Saban has done.

Well said. Do we actually think it doesn't happen at Neb? I get it's not as bad, but you're a fool if you think we're innocent. The 90's - we were as bad as Bama. The internet and media would have hung us just like everyone wants to do to Bama. Bottom line, TO got away with murder.

They obviously only started paying players when Saban arrived. I bet he demanded the bag men to start rolling the dough out.

As a federal bank examiner, IMO all it would take is to follow the money utilizing BSA (Bank Secrecy Act) & AML (Anti-Money Laundry) procedures... get these banks to start filing SAR's (Suspicious Activities Report) with FINCIN.... That would get the ball rolling 1st with FBI and the good ole IRS.... get either one these groups up your arse and I think the good ole southern boy cheating machine would dry up!!!!!
