The Reasons on "WHY" NU left have already been stated... From my recollection however, I'm pretty certain it was Missouri that started this ball rolling... they wanted into the B1G but the feelings weren't mutual and that's when B1G talks with Nebraska started. Once things leaned that way, Mizzou bolted for the SEC, sCUm took off for the PAC and the rest is History

Not real sure. I don't disagree either.

They typically get natural gas the same way. When I was involved in it they didn't even try and capture the gas it was not profitable at the time. We have enough in this country to last a very, very long time.
The US is producing more oil and natural gas than any other country in the world. By a margin. Our economy just keeps kicking ass and taking names.

You forgot bald eagle slicers. If this dead bird were covered in oil next to oil derricks the picture would be on the cover of every enviro mag.

Fake picture. I'm not pro wind turbine but let's keep things realistic.

Texass was taking over. Moved the Big 12 offices from KC to Dallas. Trying to move the Big 12 title game permanently to Jerry World. Their stupid Longhorn Network. But the last straw was them and OU flirting with the now dead Pac 12. That started the exodus of the smart schools who were just being proactive and doing what was best for their programs. N hindsight. Nebraska made the smart move. Financially and for stability. Good call T.O.
You have to admit the Big 12 made a smart decision to move the Champ Game to a brand new Jerry's World made a lot of sense...72 degrees, perfect condition for a Dec Champ Game, plus a lot more guaranteed $$$....vs the old outdoor stadium in Missouri with smaller payout.

Yes, a ton of what was going on in the Big 12 was wrong...but football wise, the move to the Big Ten killed Nebraska's program.

What makes you say it's fake
Well for starters it obviously looks fake. Then I thought logically. What are the odds of a bald eagle dying next to a wind turbine? And then someone traveling to a remote area, finding it and taking a picture? Then having it wind up in the hands of social media that is against wind turbines. So then I did a quick Google search to confirm it just for the hell of it.

Wrong on a couple of accounts. As was seen in the CFP, having games played in the elements can be an equalizer or advantage to the cold weather teams, so rotating between North and South Big 12 cities and venues was just fine. Also the Big 10 in a small venue seem to have a substantial payout in their conference title game. Also the attendance at AT&T has been similar to the attendance at the other venues, the exception being the 2 times Texas played in the title game at AT&T.

The Big Ten did not kill Nebraska football, they played in the title game the 2nd year in the league. The inability to continue to keep up with Wisconsin and Iowa shouldn't have been the death knell to a program. Poor coaching decisions in Riley and Frost, a coach, in Pelini, who fell complacent and was fine with being a 9 win coach with a 5-3 conference record.

You are right. But I'm not sure those schools were ever invited to join the Big 10 anyway. And looking back on it all, the way things are right now it doesn't seem like those schools are any worse off than they were before all of the mad scramble for money & conference realignment took place. Just looking at football anyway, Iowa State, Kansas, K-State will probably all have more players drafted than we will and those schools have had more success-- albeit in a "smaller pond". Those three schools are making less money, but spending less money while playing an easier schedule. NU is making a lot more and spending a lot more while playing a tougher schedule.

I thought NU moving to the Big 10 was the right move, but all along I've suspected that it would hurt our chances to contend for a national title. But I didn't think that the bottom would fall out.
One could argue that it enhances NU's title chances. The only way teams compete for national titles is to have the players that allow for that. Those players are increasingly wanting to play in the B1G and the SEC. Year to year, a Big 12 team will have to win the conference just to get a CFP bid, as the league won't get a second. The B1G and the SEC will get 3 each and often one or both will get 4.
