Have to throw in Daniel Carsons from Mizzou. 5.7 DE but he'll be 4 star when it's all said and done. Offers are starting to pile up.

Don't forget about:

Colson Yankoff (ID) probably our #1 target at QB. (4-star)
T.J. Pledger (FL) probably our #1 target at RB. (5-star)

Great list! Thanks guys!

Man, I have no idea where we stand with some of the elite ones, other than I think we're the front-runner for Brendan Radley-Hiles, and I certainly hope we get his commitment over the summer. I think I read that he said he would be announcing by July.

We also seem to be in a good position to land Manuel Allen, which I really like, and I really do hope we snag Will Farniok up, as I think we have a good shot there and it would be cool to have both Farniok's here (I realize his brother is probably more of an elite talent than he is, but I mean, lets not be too picky when it comes to snagging talented OC's and family to boot).

I have no idea where we stand with anyone else right now. I realize its early, and I also realize that this class is going to be a little smaller than this last one (I think I read we're taking 18 max?). It's just exciting to see this, and read about how practices are going, with such dynamic coaches. That, and the QB position battle going on right now, has got to have everyone feeling pretty good about the direction of the program.

I bet we end up taking about as many as last year. Considering we undersigned by two last year and we will surely have some attrition.

I'm interested in Masry Mapieu's development this fall. Not sold on this kid just yet.

I am too! I was reading that, despite his gargantuan size, he may not be ideal as a nose tackle because he is a bit on the tall side. Having said that, Stoltenberg is like 6'4, so he's too tall also but he's still going to do it.

Interesting INDEED.

One of the perils of offering a guy early is you project where they might play based on what you are running at the time. With the change to the 3-4 it MAY change what type of players you are looking for. That all presents an interesting dilemma.

In this kid's case I don't think position will be a factor. When Nebraska recruited him, they were running a 4-3. They were recruiting him as a DT, with the switch to 3-4, the NT becomes a new position to recruit, but 99% of the DT recruits can just move to a 3-4 DE.

I think some more IMG kids get thrown in the fold. It sounds like BRH is coming to the spring game and bringing a group of IMG guys with him.

Looks like we just got 3 new CB predictions for Manuel Allen in the last 24 hours, making us a heavy favorite to land him. Anyone think we can pull off landing a commit from him and from BRH during our spring game?? What about Grahm Roberts?

The level of talent we're seeing and pursuing actively is really, really exciting.

Not MAY change the types of players we go after but WILL change the type we go after. We need premium NG's first and foremost.

That's good news about Manuel Allen since he de-committed from USC on Feb 24. Since it looks like he is a big N lean, I'm guessing he'll be here April 15. The spring game weekend is arguably our most important weekend for recruiting the entire year (besides NSD). It allows recruits to truly get a feel for campus but more importantly it allows the coaches to connect and interact with them more due to not playing an actual game.

Bookie is going to commit in July on the anniversary of his brother's passing. He would be such a huge recruit for the 2018 class. I don't know if people realize how much other top talent would want to swarm around him for next year's class if he were to be N.

Grahm Roberts is my guess for our next commit but I'm not going to be a betting man. GR has listed himself as a fullback or running back, but to me he looks more like a D1 fullback. He, like his current early-enrollee brother Avery Roberts, did not play exceptional competition in Delaware but he is a downhill bruiser.

Yup! This all checks out. It's really cool how we're getting players based on relationships; Bookie apparently is the cousin of Tyjon Lindsey, and Allen apparently knows Lindsey well and played with him in SoCal, so that is the draw there. Plus, yeah, Bookie goes to IMG, which is a huge talent pool (like Bishop Gorman in Las Vegas, another school we've had great success pulling from).

I agree with you about Roberts. I know he's coming here for the spring game, and his brother goes here, and that yeah, they don't call him Bam Bam for nothing. That kid is a beast and could be a lot of fun to watch pound the rock.

What I'm really liking about all of this that seems to be in our favor is, we recruited a LOT of really social media savvy players this last cycle, '18 is shaping up well, and we are focusing hard on a really nice crop of talent in our 500 mile radius, which does not happen every year. These are kids that will be able to make it to the spring game with little expense, so having a great showing for that game seems even more important.

Here's hoping we get Roberts during the spring game, and maybe Allen too, and then Bookie later this summer!

Would be funny hearing the announcers in the future broadcast something like, "Yankoff drops back to pass....Yankoff spins out of a tackle, he's got a man down field, Yankoff connects!!! TOUCHDOWN NEBRASKA!!!"
