Where does Riley end up?

I saw that he was spotted packing yesterday. Which I can only assume means he is moving back to Oregon. He has also been quoted as saying he doesn't feel like he is done coaching. If that is the case, where does he end up? I don't see any Power 5 taking a shot on a 65 yr old .500, fired coach. Does he end up at some local smaller college or high school? Maybe get back into Oregon St in some way or another, maybe admin even. Does he just call it quits and retire with his Nebraska millions? Whatever he ends up doing. I do wish him the best.

He is a candidate for a position on the new Oregon State staff (non coaching I believe). He coached Smith, so I bet he gets it.

Back in Oregon, with his feet propped up on a tackle box....at the end of his dock...on the lake house that he bought for cash....all while pulling 2.5% in safe yielding CD's on about 6.3 million.

As I posted on another thread, was thinking of moving back to Nebraska but between fully taxing Social Security, pensions and investments (at a fairly high rate), sales tax and some of the highest property tax in the nation, forget it. Not to mention death tax. What does Nebraska do with all that money????

I had one business deal in Nebraska years ago where I had a short term capital gain of about 70K in a deal that took about 3 weeks to complete and they took about a third of my profit basing the tax on my 1040 gross income. Nebraska is just as bad as the people's republic of MInnesota. You can live right across the border in South Dakota or Wyoming and have a much lower tax burden. Lewis and Clark Lake area near Yankton SD is beautiful.

Yeah, I have a detailed spreadsheet of projected monthly after tax retirement income for CA, NV, SD, NE and IA. The Iowa sheet was a nightmare to figure the income tax burden, but Nebraska's wasn't much better. CA is pretty straight forward.

Depending on how many miles you live from the daycaree, it might make more sense to pay the NE income tax and live closer. It's amazing how much the actual cost, with depreciation etc, is to commute even 5-6 miles a day. You can blow through a $1000 pretty quickly.

No, I mean they are dropping the kids off with us, not every day, but for weekends, vacations, etc. In that case, driving over to Mills Co and paying the bridge toll is their headache.
