When was the last time the team turned out to be different than what it looked like in the first game?
Asking bc after the Minnesota game, I thought the team had a pretty good D, but was mentally weak and basically full of chokers. Now after 11 games, i think it's confirmed that's exactly who they are.
Then I think of prior seasons, like opening with losses versus Northwestern and Illinois, and the same thing happened. You could basically save yourself the frustration and watch the first game every season and be done with it.
I feel a bit bad with such a cynical take, but I suppose that's due at least in part to watching the exact same thing play out over multiple coaching staffs and recruiting classes.
