No doubt.Good question. Pretty sure Kansas would be in favor of an early signing period right about now. This very second.

Believe it or not Beatty has drawn up a pretty thorough and amazing recruiting plan. That was probably the main reason he was hired. Originally he was just given more or less a courtesy interview but he came in really prepared and blew the doors off the place. Absolutely killed it. Had all kinds of stats and charts to back up his recruiting business plan and showed how it could work for Kansas. Almost immediately after his first interview the regents and boosters were rampant with rumors that he had become the front runner. Lots of former KU players wanted Bowen to stay on as HC and tried rallying the school to keep him but Beatty came across with too strong of a plan for resurrecting the football program. Impressed them, and got the job. But as we all know there is a difference between a good Business Plan and a good Business. The early commits are making his Recruiting Plan and hire look pretty salty but I have my doubts that he will be able to keep all of these highly sought after recruits. We will know more next signing day.KU just got another commit from 3* DE Cartez Crook-Jones from Grandview, MO. Was drawing interest from Missouri, Arkansas, Iowa State and KState.
Jayhawks are on a nice roll with commitments...how many will hold?
KU is copying NU strategy in California but doing it in Louisiana.
Warriner left on somewhat bad terms from Kansas. He really hacked off a few of the wrong people in the athletic department and regents when he coached there. They liked his coaching but tired of dealing with him. He can only blame himself for the way he acted towards school officials. I personally hope Bowen works out because I have ties to him and he is a good guy. Really cares about KU and will do everything in his power to help make the football program better. Can't question Bowen's dedication to the Lawrence Community and KU Football. Also Bowen is highly respected by the former players. They really are hamstrung on budgets for Asst Coaches and that limits the staff that they can put together.Jeez, if BO did 10% of the crap Mangino did, Husker fans would have all died of coronaries.
Beaty is fine as a recruiter, but his game day coaching has got to be better. We will have to see how the new OC works out. I'm not sold on Bowen as DC either. But with having to pay Gill and Weis big bucks, there wasn't much money left for a new coach. I would have liked to see Warriner, but I guess he doesn't interview well.
