Whats going on "behind the scenes"

You forgot "Go Navy!"
Please share with the group, what's it like to know that your best never has been and never will be good enough? Must be difficult to greet the day each morning. Please share with Husker fan on how to deal with losing, as you have a wealth of knowledge.

Go Navy!

Is it possible our QB is still loyal to Bo and can't move on? It would explain why he passes when a run play is called. It would explain why he's chucking it 40 yards deep when more open receivers are much closer. I ain't saying he's tanking on purpose and I cannot stress that enough. I am saying maybe he thinks he can just do it his way and win, and he's still upset his old coach got the boot. If he feels that way you can bet the rest of the team knows it and there goes the leadership card everyone likes to play. It would explain a lot, especially his statement about playing for himself and family after that loss Saturday. Sure felt like a "me against the world" mentality kind of statement.

Feel free to remove this post and permaban me if this is out of line, but I am wondering if I am the only who wonders this. I swear I am not trying to stir the pot.
Your not the only one.

I simply cannot believe all the excuses I am seeing for this staff so far - everything from talent to Bo is calling players to intentional sabotage by a player

I do not understand the line of reasoning - I know everyone wants Riley to succeed ( yes including me) but making excuses for the guy is not helping
Excuses are part of the coping mechanism in bad situations. It is ones way to try and ignore what is really so obvious. If one stops making excuses then they have to admit the wrong. It isn't in human nature to be wrong.

How about a REASON. OVER HALF OF OUR TOP DEFENSIVE UNIT IS EITHER OUT WITH INJURY OR PLAYING HURT. We lost THREE potential starters to academics or transfers on top of that. We are playing multiple walkons, underclassmen and guys that had never played a snap of D-1 football on defense because of the mess that our former recruiting coordinator and head coach left us. No excuses. JUST FACTS. Tom and Charlie would have been screwed too with our current depth chart.

I hadn't looked at it in that way concerning coping mechanisms. I had been considering it only from a cognitive dissonance approach (i.e. Riley has to be a great coach because NU has to become great again. We are not progressing in becoming great again, but Riley still has to be a great coach, what can I believe that allows Riley to still be a great coach). But, the coping mechanism approach may have more or at least similar weight. I will have to think about that.

Don't overthink it. Our 2 deep at linebacker this year SHOULD have included Santos, Banderas, MRI, and Love. Thats FOUR linebackers that would have likely been on the 2 deep that are either no longer in Lincoln or are injured. Good heavens, ONE starting linebacker or safety goes out for MANY teams and they drop off dramatically. There are excuses then there are reasons. We have plenty of reasons for our defense to be having problems.
