I think he a good guy.
He’s obviously a good recruiter.
He seems to be good at Xs and Os.
His players seem to like him.
But I think back to TO’s recent thank you to his players for the extreme hard work and dedication, something missing with a lot of players today.
Can Rhule get his players to work that hard and be that dedicated? Along with their recruiting, it’s something that Saban, Smart, Harbaugh, and Day get their kids to do, something that frankly coaches like L. Riley, C. Kelly, and many others do not. Pelini and Solich were able to do it, but they had weaknesses that Rhule does not seem to have. Frost, Riley, and Callahan pretty much sucked at this.
One indicator for me, what do the OLs look like on opening day? Do they look more like Brenden Stai and Zach Wiegert, or more like the fat guys we’ve thrown out there for the past several seasons? Not too worried about Teddy and BB, but the interior guys need to show us that the team in bought into this show, what is now a really high priced show.
