I have been thinking a lot lately about the upcoming coaching change and how much different it seems this time around the past couple. It never seemed that we had a true chance at bring in a real top level coach. We seemed to always put all our eggs in the basket of our facilities and never go out and get a guy who can truly represent our National brand. Solich was never a HC, Callahan had been fired from NFL gig, Pelini no HCing experience, Riley never had a strong showing as a HC at any level.
With Moos at the helm and his history of fixing football programs, I get the since that he'll bring in a guy that will bring Nebraska back. Not only will he hire the right guy but he will be an AD that people will flock to rather than run from. As well he will exhaust all resources to make sure his guy is successful. He knows what a football coach needs, he knows that he needs to embrace the history and the fan base. He's already actively reached out to TO and to the communities in Nebraska. He gets it.
I know a lot of guys on here early on, including me, thought Frost didn't have enough experience. I think that Moos and his experience would actually cancel that out if Frost is hired. Bring in a guy like Mullen, Gundy, Bohl, Kelly (unlikely), or whoever you'll see Moos give them all tools that are needed. I also think that you'll see that having an AD like Moos and the facilities Neb. has may bring in more top assistant coaches than we are used to seeing.
