I feel like since its basically a professional game now where football players also happen tp be taking classes, that I'd poll the membership on what they care about most into next year . . .

At a minimum, we need to have a winning record in the regular season, which would mean winning more than 3 conference games for the first time since 2016. Here is our conference record for the past nine years:

2016 - 6-3
2017 - 3-6
2018 - 3-6
2019 - 3-6
2020 - 3-5
2021 - 1-8
2022 - 3-6
2023 - 3-6
2024 - 3-6

I think if you have the 3rd bullet, you’ll get the 1st or at least 2nd. I believe we’ve had better talent than our record shows. No matter who has been the coach the last 20 years, lack of discipline has been the recurring theme.

Develop the talent and build a disciplined, winning culture. The wins will come.

I’m in between 8-9 wins.

This conference is tough, even with our manageable schedule.

I lean to Rhules “Year 3 Leap”.

We have been super aggressive in the transfer portal, we haven’t blinked in bringing in top assistants.

8 wins = conservative
9 wins = expected
10+ wins = exceptional

All my opinion…

Looking at our schedule, we need to win 9 games not including the bowl. With Dana now running the offense, a year under Dylan’s belt, a new ST coach who can actually coach.. we should be able to win 9. DH as an OC is probably top 3 in all of CFB
Now that we have the Wisconsin monkey off our back I’d sure like to beat the freaking LA schools now.
Oh, and we head to the Rose Bowl this upcoming season, I’ll go the that game and see some of you there hopefully

I understand that going 7-5 with 4 conference wins would be the best result since Riley’s second year, so that would be progress.

But if that’s the results for 2025, that won’t be good enough. The era of slowly building a program over many years is over. We have a 5 star QB with a year of B1G experience. We’ve upgraded some serious flaws in the coaching staff. Reportedly the NIL game has been upped, and helped land some players.

It’s time to win. Now.

chemistry on offense, and 3 pointers

1. you want raiola's arm, help take the pressure off the run game
2. you want the run game taking pressure off raiola's arm

basicly you want the opposing dc on his heels not knowing where the point of attack will be..
(of course it need not be said the oline& wr's needs to do their buisness in 1&2.)

3. 3 pointers in close games (a must have/not open for debate)

you want all above clicking, thusly the d needs to strive to be at least on the level of last season (and no more 5 guys missing a tackle vs usc on a play) any improvement of the offense is not a call for the defense to slack...killer instinct allways..

back up's need playing time in second half..mentality

all the above = fun
if we die we die...

it's been said the offense was confused by too many nfl coaches/complexity.....and worked better by simplifying it...
let us think of this on the defensive side of the ball also..to cut out any problems that may become a issue..

one step at a time/orderly fashion/day by day

Make fewer mistakes than the opponent. And when the opponent makes a mistake, capitalize on it. Pretty simple yet vitally important. Do this, and I think almost everyone will be happy with the W-L record.

coach looking like the real "thing" in the 4th quarters
rhule needs to take over and man up in the 4th quarter
let the coordinators and coaches run the show for 3 quarters

That's how Iowa has beaten us for years.

We need to be competing for a playoff spot each and every year. That should be the standard. Don't know why we're investing the amounts in coaching salaries and facilities and NIL that we are if that's not the goal.

8+ wins. The Big Ten is tough but it's time for the Matt Rhule hire to start paying off. Still don't know what scheduling Cincy in W1 gets us.

I think Nebraska did it for the athletic department budget and national profile game.

It is definitely a risk but where we all want Nebraska to get to…they need to be able to consistently beat a team like Cincinnati from the Big 12. This is basically a Nebraska home game so hopefully they get the job done.

I will be doing my part from the stands.

I'd be okay with 8-4. Happy with 9-3. Ecstatic for 10-2.

The schedule is reasonable. No Oregon or Ohio State. Michigan and USC at home. Penn State in State College will be tough. Though the latter is nice for me as I'll almost certainly make the hour or so drive to Happy Valley to attend.

The offense was hard to watch for a lot of last year. Would like to see DR continue to develop and for better offensive play in general, namely on the O-line. Need to win in the trenches to succeed in this conference.

Can we run the ball consistently to help the DR. You saw yesterday what it does to teams that have to account for a great running game.

DR needs to learn to run better when needed and hit open WR's. If he does this, we win 2 more games last year maybe 3.

Win games is all that matters at this point. 8 is a minimum. Our schedule is not that bad.
